The 83rd episode of Dragon Quest: The Adventures Of Dai was titled ‘Baran’s will’, or ‘Baran’s Testament’. The episode begins with Hyunckel waking up and everyone around him rejoicing that he is fine. The beast who healed Hyunckel and the Silver Hym who is now on their side. While the beast says that Silver Hym is healed, Hyunckel however, will never be able to fully recover again. The beast goes on to say that Hyunckel is beyond full recovery because of the irreparable damage his bones have sustained due to repeated battles. Hyunckel will be able to walk but cannot fight again.
Hyunckel asks Crocodine to take him inside the castle where Dai and others are fighting. Inside the castle, Dai and his friends encounter Larhart. Larhart kneels down and says he will pledge his allegiance to the successor of the Dragon Knight which is Dai. Mystvearn appears and Larhart asks Dai to command him to defeat Mystvearn. Mystvearn says that it is a disgrace that Larhart has betrayed the Dragon masters. To this Larhart replies that his ancestors served only Lord Baran and no one else. Larhart reveals that when he was resurrected by Baran, he was asked to serve and protect Dai.
Dai arrives at the entrance of the tower on whose top Vearn is sitting. Vearn asks Dai to come to the top and he will welcome him as a challenger. Dai and Leona are climbing up the stairs when a mysterious monster captures Leona and takes her away. Dai follows it and arrives at a mysterious place and sees the monster.
