Dragon Ball Super: Beerus brought thousands of fans together at New York Comic Con 2026, where approximately 3,000 attendees gathered for the world premiere screening of the anime’s first episode on October 8. The special panel at the Javits Center featured the English dub cast, exclusive video messages from Japanese voice actors, and a showcase of upcoming Dragon Ball projects.
Otakukart team member Tony Waldman attended NYCC 2026 and photographed the Dragon Ball section, capturing the atmosphere surrounding one of the event’s major anime attractions.
The premiere comes ahead of the series’ Japanese debut on October 11, 2026. The new edition revisits Dragon Ball Super with extensive redrawn and newly added scenes, alongside a restructured story designed to deliver more immersive battles and a closer connection to Akira Toriyama’s original work.
ENGLISH DUB CAST SHARES EXCITEMENT FOR THE NEW SERIES
The panel was hosted by Monica Rial, the English voice of Bulma, who welcomed Jason Douglas, the voice of Beerus, and Ian Sinclair, who voices Whis. The actors discussed what makes Dragon Ball enduringly popular, including its memorable characters, action, and storytelling.
“The reason I became an actor in the first place is that I fell in love with great writing, interesting characters, and exciting action. Dragon Ball as a series has it all,”
Douglas said during the event.
Sinclair also expressed his enthusiasm, saying he would be happy to spend his entire acting career working on Dragon Ball. Their comments were accompanied by video messages from Masako Nozawa, Goku’s Japanese voice actor, and Koichi Yamadera, who voices Beerus in Japanese.
Nozawa encouraged fans worldwide to enjoy the story created by Akira Toriyama, while Yamadera urged viewers to watch Beerus demonstrate his strength and intimidating presence. Nozawa later led the packed audience in a group “Kamehameha,” bringing the panel to an energetic close.
DRAGON BALL SUPER: BEERUS SHOWCASES NEW CONTENT AT NYCC
Beyond the premiere, the Dragon Ball booth featured artwork of Goku and Beerus, statues of Beerus and Whis, and playable stations for Dragon Ball Super Card Game Fusion World and Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3. Visitors could also explore merchandise displays and receive convention-themed giveaways.
According to the official Dragon Ball website, the event was part of a wider promotional campaign that included a wrapped bus touring New York and advertising at subway entrances. Similar promotions were launched in Los Angeles.
Dragon Ball Super: Beerus premiered in Japan on October 11, 2026, and is an enhanced edition of the original Dragon Ball Super anime.
