Drag Race Philippines Season 2 Episode 8: Recap
In the Drag Race Philippines Season 2 so far, only six queens are left, and they have to compete to make it to the bottom two. With the end of one contest, another contest was announced, which was named Twinnin: The Sequel.
The queens were given the task of doing a makeover on the special guest of the show The Golden Gays. The Golden Gays are part of a non-profit Philippine organization that provides support and other facilities to the aged LGBTQ community.
The episode was shined and glittered as the queen gave a makeover to the golden gays, turning them into their drag sisters. The judge and the special guest of the makeover contest was the stunning Gloria Diaz.
The next episode was followed up with a new challenge for the queens. The 8th episode of Drag Race Philippines Season 2 was named “Branding Ding-Ding!” and the theme was marketing and branding. The Queens were given a mini challenge first, in which Arizona Brandy won. For the main game, queens have to make, market, and shoot a commercial advertisement for their shampoo.
The category on the runway was “Rainbow Runway Realness”. The special guest and judge for the branding episode was one of the popular Thai drag stars, Pangina Heals. The prize money for the mini challenge was 20,000 pessos, which Arizona Brandy took home, and the prize money for the main was set at 80,000 pessos.
The queens gather up and put their unique and gorgeous charms into making respective commercials to win the challenge. Arizona Brandy, Hana Beshie, M1ss Jade So, and ØV Cünt were able to get good responses from the judges, while Bernie and Captivating Katkat were criticized. Both were announced as the bottom two. Even tho M1ss Jade So received good remarks; she was given punishment for using more filming places than allocated to her.
Finally, the winner of the main game was announced, i.e. ØV Cünt, and she took the grand money prize too. Since Bernie and Captivating Katkat were the bottom two, they had to lip-sync to “The Power” by Ann Raniel. Both managed to win the lip sync test, and none was eliminated or went home.
