Doctor Cha Episode 3 Recap (Spoilers!)
In Doctor Cha Episode 3, Jeong-suk was completely certain she wouldn’t be hired, and the disappointment drove her to follow her husband’s advise and take a vacation. She travels to the airport with her buddy Min-hee. The two discuss how frustrating life has been while they wait for her to acquire a job, which is tough given her age and the kind of health issue she has.
Her good fortune, however, continues because one of the recently assigned residents left just before beginning his three years to serve in the necessary military service. Jeong-suk is sent to the surgery division of In-ho by Seung-hi. The two meet for the first time there and are taken aback by what is going on.
Roy Kim, one of the professors who recently joined the hospital, is considering a full-time position to add additional drama. In-ho requests that their marital status remain as a secret. Oddly enough, Roy and Jeong-suk speak to each other on the same day after a lengthy period of work on the same topic.
In-ho resolves to establish certain ground rules when the couple is at home. He mentions that he won’t be treating her any differently. While setting similar boundaries, Jung-min is not as harsh with them. He only wants to keep things quiet between them.
The hospital administrator decides to give a dinner for Roy Kim and the department heads as they are all new, as are the residents who have just moved in. Roy Kim observes Jeong-suk through all of this and notices that she is an excellent drinker. In the middle of all, In-ho faces criticism for not drinking.
The hospital director congratulates him on his bravery in donating his liver and inquires about how his wife is doing. He chooses to accept the narrative rather than correct any of them. As he closely observes everything going on, Roy Kim is taken aback by how this situation has developed.
When they approach Jeong-suk, they inquire about her spouse, to which she immediately responds, “He’s dead.” In-ho violently spits out his beverage while Jung-min burns his palm on the grill. The episode ends on a shocking note, leaving the viewers in suspense.
