DNA Season 1 Recap
Before diving into DNA Season 2 Episode 1, let’s quickly do a recap of the previous Episode. In the previous season, Detective Rolf Larsen, a well-liked member of the Copenhagen police department, is looking into a case of a missing kid when his own infant daughter vanishes, completely shaking up his life. When a significant error in the police’s DNA database is found five years after the incident, a new lead materializes. Rolf meets young police officer Neel while investigating a stolen automobile in Thornby, and their shared boss grudgingly instructs the investigator to compare the car thief’s DNA with that of his former coworkers in Copenhagen.
After Rolf and Neel find significant mistakes in the Danish DNA database, the Minna case is reopened. Rolf and his old employer Astrid Oxlev help the French police, which is working with Claire Bobain, the primary investigator. The team travels to Poland in search of a key witness with a video after finding evidence that points there, but Claire worries that Rolf seems more interested in his daughter’s case than the homicide they are currently looking into.
While various leads lead Claire and Rolf back to Poland, two men are taken up for interrogation in Paris for the murder of Victoria and admit to having hired her to serve as the surrogate mother of their child. While searching for answers in a church in Poland, Claire, Rolf, and Karol receive little assistance from the nuns. Later, though, Rolf establishes a link to the case that suggests a Paris fertility clinic may hold the key to finding answers.
Rolf quickly realizes that Melanie may be in danger when Neel joins Melanie’s family to look into child trafficking. In the meantime, Julita is determined to find her kidnapped child. Minna is rejoined with her mother when the culprits of the adoption network are taken into custody. In the meantime, Rolf receives a fresh lead in the hunt for his missing daughter.
