The American nontraditional court show, Divorce Court, has been going on for a while now. A show revolving around settling the disputes of couples going through divorces, Divorce Court is currently in its 24th season. Since its release in 1999, this edition of the show has become quite popular. It has had four separate runs since the debut of the original series in 1957.
Prosecutor and District Attorney Star Jones was announced as the show’s next arbitrator. As a legal correspondent, she has appeared on CNN, Today, NBC Nightly News, MSNBC, Inside Edition, Court Tru, and TruTV to date and is currently acting as the judge in the show.
In the show, real couples going through some issues or who had previously filed for divorce get a chance to argue their cases before the court. In each episode, a new couple is featured. One of the longest-running shows, Divorce Court has solved countless such cases to date. Both sides are given a chance to present their arguments. Later, the judge rules in favor of one side, and the judge’s decision is legally binding. Sometimes, the judge may even withhold a decision.
They might give the couple enough time to reconsider their relationship and work out their issues. The judge has to solve other issues, such as alimony and asset division as well after the decision is announced. In case the couple is given time to reconcile, the show would revisit such cases to explore how the couple is doing.
There are times when this delay remedies their issues, but sometimes, the couples’ relationship worsens in this given period of time. Recently, social media segments have also been included. In this, viewers’ reactions and polls have been incorporated into the show.

Divorce Court Season 24: Previous Episodes
In the previous episode, which was also the fiftieth episode of this season, we met Shanelle Chapman and Richard Swiney. Shanelle admitted that she was getting tired of being belittled by Richard. On the other hand, Richard seems to believe that she is cheating on him because she receives calls from other men. Well, it could have been better if they had talked this out. But it looks like the couple has never heard the saying that communication is the key to a healthy relationship.
In the latest episode, we will see Maria Francombe and Cesar Ruiz. Maria wants a divorce because Cesar has become too complacent. While Cesar argues that Maria has been inconsolable since her mother passed. Ouch! That seems brutal, even for Cesar. But, will they learn to solve their issues, or is separating the only way forward for this couple?
