Dutch-born American actress and singer Anneliese van de Pol is now officially engaged to actor and comedian Johnno Wilson, as they share the big news through Instagram on 27 December 2023.
After he got down on one knee and proposed, the That’s So Raven actress answered “yes” to her boyfriend and Raven’s Home costar. In the joint Instagram post on Wednesday, the couple posted pictures from their Christmas-themed proposal, as their highly emotional moment was seen to be complimented by a Christmas tree in the foreground.
Van de Pol is shown in the first picture kneeling on the ground, shocked and with her mouth hanging open. She leans in and meets his gaze in the following slide. Van de Pol is also shown carrying a champagne glass in the last image, her new engagement ring adorning her finger.
The couple captioned the photos thanking the television series that allowed them to meet in real life: “Thank you @disney for introducing me to my TV ex-spouse and real-life fiancé. ❤️12.23.23❤️”. The pair met on the American family sitcom titled Raven’s Home, which aired on the Disney Channel and was a spinoff of That’s So Raven.
Van de Pol first appeared on That’s So Raven as young Chelsea, Raven-Symone’s best friend in the series. Wilson, on the other hand, played Chelsea’s ex-husband, Garrett Grayson, in the remake, which was his only appearance.
The pair posted a video of themselves holding up a Raven’s Home poster on Instagram on 7 November. Van de Pol said jokingly in the post, “When he thinks he did something, but he was only in the reboot.”
Wilson is also present in another September post commemorating van de Pol’s birthday. The duo in the image, who are both dressed in black, is holding each other’s arms, and the post reads, ” CAN’T BELIEVE IT FINALLY HAPPENED!!!!! I turned 39. 9/23/23 @johnnowilson.”
What is Raven’s Home?
Developed by Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas, Raven’s Home is an American family sitcom television series that debuted on Disney Channel on 21 July 2017 and is named after the protagonist Raven-Symoné.
During the first four seasons of the show, Issac Ryan Brown, Navia Robinson, Jason Maybaum, Sky Katz, and Anneliese van der Pol were the stars playing the main roles of the series. For the fifth season, Mykal-Michelle Harris, Felix Avitia, Emmy Liu-Wang, and Rondell Sheridan made a comeback.
The show is a spinoff of the teen sitcom series That’s So Raven which aired between 2003 and 2007. There was also another spinoff from that series titled Cory in the House, and they are all based on the characters created by Michael Poryes and Susan Sherman.
The protagonist of Raven’s Home is Raven Baxter, a divorced mother of preteen twins Booker and Nia who resides in Chicago, Illinois, with her son Levi and her childhood best friend Chelsea. 9 April 2023 marked the debut of the sixth season of the beloved show.
That’s So Raven Spinoff
The premise of the series reads: “Best friends Raven and Chelsea, both divorced single mothers, are now raising their children in an apartment together in Chicago.” Upon discovering that Booker, the son of Raven, possesses the same psychic skills as his mother, their home is completely transformed.
In the fifth season, after Raven’s father, Victor, had a small heart attack, Raven and Booker move briefly to San Francisco, Raven’s hometown, to take care of Victor. While Booker has to navigate his mother’s former school with the aid of some new friends and his younger cousin Alice, Raven is working to get her father back in shape.
That’s So Raven, the original teen series, attracted a lot of viewers on American broadcast television, which paved the way for the creation of products, video game adaptations, and soundtrack CDs.
Regarded as her breakthrough role, Raven-Symoné’s physical humor won raves from television critics. In 2005 and 2007, the show was nominated for two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Children’s Program.
