In Diggstown, we follow organizational attorney Marcie Diggs as she begins to reconsider her ideals after a family disaster and an unjust trial. Marcies’ team is made up of do-gooders, pessimists, and wreckers. These ordinarily disorderly individuals try to keep their inner demons under control and out of practice.
They aggressively involve the community to achieve fairness for their clients in instances such as xenophobia, poverty, and sexual discrimination. The series was also notable for being the first Canadian series to have a Black Canadian lady as the lead character. It discusses societal concerns in a way that many Canadians can grasp.
Supporters argue that the only way to change systemic bias is to expose it in a way that inspires empathy. Because there are so few television episodes that focus on the Canadian perspective, the Social Criticism is deemed contemporary, the setting is lovely, and fans adore the true social background and human drama. Others claim that the show is encouraging erroneous cultural prejudices by highlighting the complaints of minorities. However, several factors make the program interesting, and fans anxiously await what will happen next.
