This is not the first time Pinkett and Will’s long-standing rocky relationship has made headlines. Previously, rumors of an open marriage between the two caused a stir on the internet due to Jada’s cheating.
As the couple and their relationship become the talk of the world again, let us look at their love life as they raise three children together to combat rumors of marriage and breakup. And also get to know who the real cheater is, if there is any.
Where it All Started
Jada Pinkett and Will Smith first set their eyes on each other when they were working on a TV show (The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air) in the 1990s. Jada tried out her luck to play the role of Smith’s character’s girlfriend on the show, but she did not have it because she was too short. The part was instead given to Nia Long.
Will Smith was then married to Sheree Zampino. Still, after his split from Sheree, Smith asked Pinkett, “Are you seeing anybody?” When she said no, he replied, “Cool. You’re seeing me now”.
After dating for two years, Will and Jada Pinkett Smith proceeded to tie the knot on New Year’s Eve. At the time, Pinkett was pregnant with their first child, Jaden.
Jada Smith gave birth to her first boy, Jaden, on July 8, 1998. Two years later, the couple welcomed their daughter, Willow Smith, on October 31, 2000.
The two kids proved they have a knack for acting like parents. In 2006, Jaden appeared in his dad’s movie ‘The Pursuit of Happyness’ as his son. Willow appeared in ‘I Am Legend’ alongside her father and in 2010 released her song, ‘Whip My Hair.’
Will Smith Clears Himself off Infidelity
Ever since, the assumption around Will Smith and Jada’s relationship has only continued to grow further, with several fans making speculations that the two of them had been unfaithful to one another.
But, this weekend, Will entered the discussion to set things directly, disclosing during an interview with CBS that the sagas of cheating are false.
Arguably, the most amazing disclosure came in July 2020, when the Hollywood partners — who share two children, Jaden, 23, and Willow, 21 — emerged on Jada’s candid show Red Table Talk to talk about the ins and outs of their matrimony at length.
It was during this discussion that Jada confessed she’d had what she first called an “entanglement” — but later explained was a romantic relationship — with the singer (August Alsina) while she and Will Smith had been split indefinitely.
About a year later, Smith shed some light on the so-called entanglement, disclosing that Jada had “never believed in a traditional marriage” during a frank interview with GQ.
Jada Distances Herself from Talk of Infidelity
Speaking to her mother, Adrienne Banfield-Norris, on Talk Shop Live on Saturday, Jada said that despite the turmoil in her marriage, she had never been unfaithful. She declared.
“All I want people to know is, okay, I did not cheat on Will Smith,” she said during a tense episode of Red Table Talk in 2020, during which she and the 55-year-old Solved hot topics covered by Will.
Jada spoke about her “brief tangle” with August Alsina, which occurred while she was briefly separated from her husband, and said that “Will seemed very sad during the episode” but that there was no infidelity. She added.
As for how Jada and the King Richard actor are doing now, she said Jada is “finally happy.”
“Some things have happened in the last two years, and Will and I have been doing a lot of healing together. And you know, we have grown into an interdependent relationship, that beautiful, loving space between us. I returned, and we are family. And we are about to find out.”
She added: “Will and I are in a lovely place together.”
She denied having an affair because she told PEOPLE in last week’s issue that neither she nor her husband had ever had an affair and, despite speculation, she is not in an open relationship. No, she said afterward.
Jada and August Alsina
In 2020, news broke that Jada had an affair with August Alsina. After Jada Pinkett denied her infidelity allegations, she accepted that she had an affair with singer August Alsina during her vacation with Will.
Pinkett Smith admitted on the reality show Red Table Talk that she had an “entanglement” with Alsina when she put her marriage on hiatus in 2015.
