“I don’t believe this. I feel like a spy from nighttime television,” he said. “I’m 98 years old. Can you believe it? This really tops off a lifetime of 80 years in the business. If I had known I would have lived this long I would’ve taken better care of myself.”
“General Hospital” continues its legacy with four consecutive wins as best daytime drama, and Robert Gossett’s recognition adds to the show’s success.

“General Hospital” seems to have dominated across the board with wins in directing and writing as well. Congratulations to Thorsten Kaye for his second consecutive lead actor win on “The Bold and the Beautiful”!

“I got to be very honest. I don’t like award shows. I didn’t like award shows until tonight,” he said.
“The other thing that doesn’t make sense is that anyone can do this alone. You need a great boss who sees you and hears you. You need a cast that tolerates you. You need a whole village of people that have agreed that they’re not going to let you drown. I’ve have all of that.”
It must have been an amazing moment for Michelle Stafford to win best actress again after so many years, especially for her portrayal of Phyllis Summers on “The Young and the Restless.” Winning after such a long gap must have been a wonderful surprise for her.
“I am honored to be an actor. It is the greatest gig. It is a privilege,” she said. “I’m honored to entertain people.”
What a heartwarming moment to see Dick Van Dyke receiving a standing ovation, accompanied by his wife, Arlene, as he made his way to the stage. It must have been a touching sight for everyone in attendance.
“I brought this lady up because she was also on the show,” he said. “She played the cop who arrested me.”
It’s a bittersweet reminder of the passage of time to hear about Norman Lear’s final Primetime Emmy nomination and Dick Van Dyke’s continued success over the years.

“I can’t tell you how encouraging a thing like this is,” joked Thomas Scott, who made her acting debut at age 8 in Alfred Hitchcock’s “Marnie.”
Her husband told the crowd,
“I promise to do my very best to try to continue to amaze you.”
It’s fantastic to see Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos recognized for their hosting on “Live with Kelly and Mark,” and congratulations to Ina Garten for winning best culinary series!
