This diversion allows the player and Neyrelle to arrive at Mephisto first. In the end, Neyrelle comes to the conclusion that Mephisto may pose a greater threat to humanity than Lilith does, and she bonds his essence to a Soulstone that was intended for Lilith.
At the end of Diablo 4, Lilith returns to face off with players. This time, she becomes enraged, and a boss battle within the Throne of Hatred follows, ultimately ending with Lilith’s defeat. It is unclear if she will make a comeback, as several other Diablo characters have in the past, despite the fact that players see her crumble to dust after her battle with the player character.
After succumbing to the Wanderer, Lilith spoke her last words, stating that everyone was doomed because they had chosen to unleash a much greater threat on the world by siding with Mephisto and even believing a word her father had said.
Uncertain of her motives, Nyrelle steals Mephisto’s Soulstone and takes the ship to take it far away. She is on her journey as we can see at the end.
