Woo Jaeyun and So Won will be going on their first date as the two and get over the first day’s misconception. Seo Doyah was shocked to learn of this news as he had cleared the misunderstanding surrounding the two. However, it seems that naivety took the better of the female lead, and she will be shooting herself in the foot in Devil’s Wish Chapter 18.
So far, the romance series has gone as a typical Fifty Shades of Grey clone with a different setting. It would be more apt to say that the series is a tone-down version of the best-selling novel. However, it is the tropes that keep series like these afloat rather than novelty or boldness.
This series feels like a hard dial back to the past, where characters appear to imitate real life with fantasy mixed in it. Some might even say that the dial-back to the archaic tropes is a disadvantage. But, as we said the last time, the fanservice carries this series hard and far, and the recent chapter was another reminder of how strong that can be.
Devil’s Wish Chapter 18 Spoilers
Devil’s Wish Chapter 18 will be a date chapter, with lots of fan service and many heart-pounding moments. As for the comedy part of the series, those things are just in the tags and don’t show themselves much in the story. But that holds for most of the series these days.
Comedy is more of a gag that every series pulls off, not serious about it or light-hearted about it. Nothing witty or too dumb to make the audience laugh, just a series of notions that induce gags. This problem is present in every other series out there, and it isn’t going to change anytime soon.
Back to the main plot (or the lack of it), we will see Woo get tangled up in Woo Jaehyun’s schemes. The man affiliated with the big world is known for his big connections and for meeting many big people. That is his entire character and identity, nothing more and nothing less, but since he knows many people, he also knows how to manipulate those around him. And this time, it is So Woo.
Devil’s Wish Chapter 17 Recap
Devil’s Wish Chapter 17 starts with Hyeseo asking the female lead whom she had been hanging out with. So Won tried not to be too loud about that as she had gotten away from the floating away. However, Hyeseo saw the female lead uttering a name that would many in the college doubt her sanity.
The man that So Won would be going out with was none other than Woo Jaeyun, the cause of her recent worry. So Won had to seek a literal (teen-brained) demon to make everyone forget her scene with Woo. However, all that development was flushed down the toilet the moment Woo came asking So Won for a date out of nowhere.
The only reason why So Won agreed to it could be ascribed to her naivete in accepting the proposal. But, it also raises the question of whether or not this character will get character development as the series goes on. The series so far points to there being no character development for the female lead, and the other characters are even less likely to do so.
