SEGA has officially announced that Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + “Infinity Castle” Character Pass will launch on October 29, 2026, bringing an enhanced version of the anime fighting game to Nintendo’s latest console. The new edition introduces improved visuals, smoother 60 FPS gameplay, cross-generation multiplayer, and access to the game’s complete roster of 54 playable characters.

The announcement also confirms that players who already own The Hinokami Chronicles 2 on Nintendo Switch, either physically or digitally, will receive a free upgrade to the Nintendo Switch 2 version. However, SEGA noted that the Infinity Castle Character Pass is not included in the free upgrade and must be purchased separately through the Nintendo eShop.

Nintendo Switch 2 Edition delivers improved visuals and all 54 fighters

The Nintendo Switch 2 release significantly upgrades the original Switch version by adding higher-quality visuals and a 60 FPS frame rate for smoother gameplay. Alongside these improvements, the game continues to support both local two-player battles and online VS Mode.

One of the biggest additions is cross-generation support between Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 users, allowing players on both systems to compete together online. This helps keep the multiplayer community connected regardless of which Nintendo console they own.

The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition also includes every playable fighter released for the game, bringing the total roster to 54 characters. This includes all seven additions from the “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle” Character Pass:

  • Tanjiro Kamado (Infinity Castle)
  • Zenitsu Agatsuma (Infinity Castle)
  • Giyu Tomioka (Infinity Castle)
  • Shinobu Kocho (Infinity Castle)
  • Doma
  • Akaza (Infinity Castle)
  • Kaigaku

SEGA confirmed that the physical edition will be available at launch for $59.99 MSRP and will include the Infinity Castle Character Pass.
