Muzan summoned the upper-rank demons in the infinite castle, mostly because Gyutaro and Daki were slaughtered by the demon slayers. Both of them were upper-rank six, so it was a pretty big loss for the demons. The other reason was that they still could not find the blue spider lily, which will allow Muzan to attain immortality, and he could also go out in the sunlight without hiding himself.
The upper-rank demons were pretty annoyed at each other because all of them wanted to be at the top, however, that was not possible until they defeated the demon slayers. Gyyoko, Hantengu, Akaza, Douma, and Kokushibou were gathered inside the infinity castle to meet Muzan. Kokushibou announced Gyutaro and Daki’s deaths, as he predicted Gyutaro lost because Daki was holding him back.
Kokushibou suggested Gyutaro would have won if he was fighting all by himself, as he could have poisoned them in the beginning and they could not keep up with him.
