In the previous chapter of Deliberate Scandal, we see a flashback from Jaehee and Seonjae’s past when Seonjae was friends with Jaehee’s brother Taewoo. At the beginning of the chapter, Taewoo tells Seonjae that he is going on a trip, and he is somewhat annoyed that both Jaehee and Seonjae refuse to go with him.

Later, we see that Taewoo suddenly passed away, and his entire family was in shambles over his death. Taewoo’s family had been very supportive when his own mother passed away, but Seonjae could not carelessly reach out to his family because he knew he reminded them of Taewoo.
