The hosts of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, Declan Donnelly and Ant McPartlin got themselves into a bit of a jam after making a cheeky joke on the ITV show.
In the latest episode, the Geordie couple made light of ‘throuples’ and introduced newcomers, alluding to their own marriages.
They appeared to quickly regret their joke, admitting live on television that “we’re in so much trouble!” The hosts made a lighthearted comment about their own relationships after Tony Bellew talked about his boxing career and Nigel Farage brought up David Haye’s alleged triple romance.
Declan Donnelly and Ant McPartlin got into “so much trouble”
Dec said, “You might not be aware, but Ant and I are in a throuple.” Ant said, “Yes, we are. Everybody has one significant other, the love of their life, who occupies the greatest place in their hearts.” Dec laughed and continued, “And then there are our wives!” “We’re in so much trouble,” Ant laughed and acknowledged, and Dec agreed, saying, “So much trouble!”
While Dec has been married to Ali Astall since 2015, and the two of them have two children together, Ant is married to Anne-Marie Corbett as of 2021.
The Saturdays’ Una Healy gained notoriety earlier this year when she appeared to admit to being in a “throuple” with David Haye and his intermittent partner Sian Osborne.
She subsequently distanced herself from the pair, claiming that she had only ever been romantically involved with the boxer.
In a podcast interview with Vogue Williams, Una made it clear: “It was informal, not a serious relationship. It was more romantic, but I was still happy with it. I knew [David] was seeing other women since he was honest about it. I didn’t feel duped in this circumstance. I realized he was only someone I was enjoying as a lighthearted experience and not someone I could see myself marrying.”
Declan Donnelly and Ant McPartlin create buzz with their joke
The ‘throuple’ joke from Ant and Dec was evidently appreciated by the audience of I’m A Celebrity, as evidenced by the positive reactions posted on social media on Thursday night.
“Ant and Dec saying they are in a throuple,” a viewer wrote, adding laughing emojis to their comment. In agreement, a different viewer commented, “Howling at Ant and Dec’s joke about being in a throuple.”
Ant and Dec were even teasingly suggested to be in a “throuple” with Stephen Mulhern.
Fans were perplexed as to how Nigel came to be aware of the well-known throuple involving David Haye and Una Healy in the meantime. Someone asked, “How does Nigel Farage know about the David Haye, Una Healy throuple?”
“Not Nigel Farage bringing up the throuple,” said one commenter, while another said, “Nigel Farage knowing about David Haye’s throuple.” This dream is a fever.”
I’m A Celebrity campmates kissed each other
On I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, there was an unexpected incident where it appeared that two campmates had kissed by mistake.
The twist was that both people had partners watching them from home, and it seemed to be inadvertent. To add to the intrigue, Jamie Lynn Spears, 32, did not even know who the other person was when she inadvertently planted a kiss on their lips.
The scene was set after her teammates, Fred Sirieix and Nella Rose, emerged victorious from the Slam Dunked challenge at Snake Rock, defeating Nick Pickard and Marvin Humes.
Though the exultation may have gone a little too far, the main camp burst into celebration. Jamie Lynn Spears asked, “Have I kissed anyone? since I’m wearing repellent on my lips.” Sam Thompson, star of Made in Chelsea, joked that he was the lucky one who got kissed by mistake.
