DDG was class valedictorian while he attended the International Tech Academy. In 2015, he joined the Central Michigan University for his graduation. This was the time when he started making videos. Later he dropped out of college since he was earning around $30,000 per month through YouTube. Since leaving the college, he went to California to pursue his career as an entertainer.
Since childhood, he was attached to music and worked alongside his father in a music studio. He released two tracks in 2016, which Zaytoven produced. They were Free Parties and Balenciagas. For the song named Lettuce, DDG collaborated with Famous Dex. This song was initially released on DDG’s YouTube channel, and it gathered over 500,000 views in 1 hour. It was June 2018 when DDG signed a record deal with Sony Entertainment’s ‘Epic Records’. DDG released the first single off his debut album named “Push”. His debut studio album ‘VALEDICTORIAN’ was released in November 2019. DDG’s first song to enter the Billboard Hot 100 was his single “Moonwalking in Calabasas”.
