K-pop Idol Dawn finally talked about his relationship with HyunA after their breakup. On 30 November 2022, HyunA revealed by posting on her Instagram that the couple broke up with mutual consent. However, this news, of course, broke almost every HyunA and Dawn fan. The couple got more fame when they both together released their first album as a unit, “1+1=1,” with the title track “Ping Pong”, which grasped fans all over the world.
The couple was then known as the Ping Pong couple by fans. Recently, Dawn confidentially talked about his relationship on 1theK’s YouTube corner “Look Me Up”, where he appeared as a guest for the promotion of his newly released song. HyunA also shared a heartwarming response to Dawn’s new song “Dear My Light“.
Their Breakup Decision.
Dawn appeared as a guest on 1theK’s YouTube corner, “Look Me Up,” on 14 April 2023, where he searched his name on various websites and social media and clarified all the comments and reports. He took this as a chance to clarify his relationship and breakup with HyunA. On seeing an article about “Why he liked HyunA’s breakup post on Instagram, he explained that “It was my show of support. At that time, I respected her decision and supported her”.

Legal Action on Spreading Rumours
Following their breakup post, Dawn then saw an article which was about a malicious post exploiting HyunA by faking Dawn’s fake Instagram account posted by some YouTuber; Dawn took this matter seriously, and he posted on Instagram about this “It was not written by me, and I will take legal action against the publisher” On this article, Dawn explained in the show “We broke up, but I will do same if the same thing happens now.”
He still loves HyunA
After this, he responds to an off-camera comment, “If he still loves Hyuna”, Dawn revealed, “I’m the same. Whether I break up with HyunA or get back with her, It doesn’t matter what we are. I love the person HyunA, so even if we take different paths and stand with someone else in the future, I’ll still be in love with HyunA”. This response from Dawn proves that even if the couple is separated now, he still loves her as a person and supports her decision.
Talked about engagement rings.
He further talks about the engagement ring photos shared by HyunA and Dawn in February 2022 on their Instagram, which hinted to fans that their wedding is coming soon. Dawn said, “It was because I like her so much, of course; I had the idea that she would be the person I will marry if I got married in the future, but at that time, I just wanted her to give her a ring”. He then laughed and joked, “It’s common sense if you give someone a ring, you are engaged. It’s natural, but I’m a senseless person.”
He also added the reason why they didn’t respond to their marriage articles about them at that time, he explains “I thought marriage is a later matter, so I thought it would be awkward to tell them, I’m not getting married.”

After their breakup, rumors about them getting reunited started surfacing on the Internet around February 2023. Dawn then moved to youtube and found a video which was claiming HyunA gifted him a 20 billion apartment, to which he laughed and explained, “This is a lie. Don’t be fooled by the Internet.”
Some fans still feel bad that the cool Ping Pong couple isn’t together, but it’s still good that they both support each other positively. Instead of being in a humiliating relationship, both Dawn and HyunA are very open-minded about their current relationship. The couple still loves each other as a person and supports each other decisions. They want fans and people to see them as a different artist, not for their past relationships.
