On July 14th, Dawn posted a photo on his Instagram story. In the image, he is seen casually dressed, sitting on a sofa, and taking a selfie through a full-length mirror. However, what caught fans’ attention was the significant clearing out of his Instagram feed while uploading new posts.
Dawn’s social media activity comes shortly after his ex-girlfriend, singer HyunA, announced her marriage to Yong Jun-hyung on July 8th. Previously, Dawn had kept several couple photos with HyunA on his feed, including intimate kissing photos. These posts sparked debate about whether they might make HyunA’s groom-to-be, Yong Jun-hyung, uncomfortable.
Interestingly, HyunA had also kept her couple photos with Dawn on her account, honouring a promise they had made. During an appearance on MBC’s entertainment program “Radio Star” in 2019, Dawn shared, “HyunA and I decided not to delete our SNS photos even if we break up. We believe dating, breaking up, and meeting again are natural things and memories.”
However, recent developments have seemingly prompted Dawn to reconsider this stance. Conscious of public opinion and the new chapter in HyunA’s life, Dawn deleted all traces of her from his account, leaving only 15 photos related to his activities. Meanwhile, HyunA’s feed still contains photos of Dawn.
Dawn and HyunA publicly began dating in 2016 and announced their breakup in 2022. The news of HyunA’s upcoming marriage has been warmly received. On July 8th, Yong Jun-hyung’s agency, Blackmade, told Star News, “Yong Jun-hyung and HyunA, with deep affection and trust for each other, will hold a wedding ceremony in October with close acquaintances. We appreciate your loving interest and congratulations for Yong Jun-hyung as he starts a new chapter in life as a married man.”
HyunA’s agency, At Area, also stated, “HyunA and Yong Jun-Hyung, who has been a great comfort to each other during difficult times, promised to marry as a culmination of their love. They will hold a ceremony in October with close acquaintances and start a new life together.”
