Bell and Syr manage to escape from the Freya Familia’s watchdogs by using an invisibility cloak. Bell takes Syr to the St. Fulland Cathedral and tells her about the legend of Fulland, a knight who fell in love with a Spirit. Despite their bond, Fulland was forced to choose between the Spirit and a saint who had always supported him, and he ultimately chose the saint.
After initially trying to kill Fulland, the Spirit later sacrificed herself to save him from a monster attack. In her honor, Fulland built the Cathedral in grief. Syr then asks Bell what he would do if she ever became so upset that she tried to hurt others.
Later, Bell buys a charm based on the Fulland tale for Syr, with Syr using her half as a hairpin. They have dinner on a boat, where Ais, Hestia, and the Hostess maids secretly watch them. During dinner, Bell questions Syr about her secrets. Suddenly, the boat is attacked by Freya Familia.
Ais and the Hostess maids fight off the attackers, allowing Bell and Syr to escape. They spend the night wandering through the city and eventually reach the “Heroes Bridge.” There, Syr tells Bell how the world longs for a hero and reveals her desire for an “Odr,” her one-and-only hero. She then takes Bell to a one-bedroom inn for the night, which leaves Bell feeling worried.
