The Olympic gold medalist Greg Rutherford, who has recently become a part of ITV’s Dancing on Ice, fainted during his rehearsal for his debut performance on the show for the next Sunday episode. He has been seen under the circumstances of ice dancing, which turned out to be a formidable challenge.
Due to the limitless intensity of his preparations and the continuous efforts to push the limits, the exhaustion of Greg’s energy led to his fainting in front of his partner, Vanessa James, during the performance. Further, he shared content on Instagram that made his tiring situation more visible.

Recently, during the rehearsals for the upcoming episode of his debut performance on Dancing on Ice, Greg fainted. After his collapse during the rehearsal, he shared a video of his practicing section on Instagram, through which he gave his fans a glimpse of the efforts that James and he put together in their routine.
He also had a heart shade, and he was seen catching his breath on his niece in obviously worn-out condition, lying down next to James on the eyes.
Dedication and commitment to mastering the art of eye dancing were really seen through that picture. Due to this pushing of the limits and worn-out routine, Greg collapsed during the rehearsals.
Earlier this month, during the New Year celebrations, he had to miss a performance as he was battling with a chest infection, which made him stay back to recover from it.
Rutherford’s journey in Dancing on Ice has been marked by moments that were challenging, but he remains determined, and swiftly after recovering from his infection, he started his rehearsals eager to make the audience witness that first skate.
On the shared content, Rutherford said, “I’ve not been this exhausted in a long time” on Instagram. Further, about his performance partner, he said, “Vanessa has pushed me to the limits.
I cannot wait for everyone to see our first skate.” In response, his professional skating partner wrote, “When your skating partner has had an extremely long day and still gives it his all to show and tell ‘imperfect progress’” while praising Greg for his efforts.
The gold medalist couldn’t be a part of the New Year celebration; he chose to recover so he could be a part of the upcoming live launch show on Sunday, January 14, of dancing on ice.
During that time, Rutherford had said, “No party, no celebration, just feeling rough. Fingers crossed it passes soon, as I’ve got some ice skating to do!” This shows how relentless he is to achieve excellence in his new ventures.
Greg Rutherford is a well-acknowledged retired British athlete who has been a specialist in long jump. As an athlete, he has represented Great Britain at the Olympic and European Championships and England at the Commonwealth Games.
He was also part of the British bobsleigh team in 2021, but unfortunately, he couldn’t qualify for the 2022 Winter Olympics due to the injuries he got while preparing for them.
In the 2006 European athlete championships, he made his first mark by achieving a silver medal. His golden period during his athletic career was between 2012 and 2016, when he was seen winning gold medals for long jumps at the 2012 Summer Olympics, the 2014 Commonwealth Games, and 16 European American athletes and topping the 2015 IAAF diamond league rankings in the event.
His bronze medal, which he won in the 2016 Summer Olympics, marks his final medal as his uncle’s injury caused him to take a setback for the next 2 years, following which he retired from the sport in 2018.
His victorious Olympics mark an iconic status in British sporting culture history, as his second of three athlete’s coal medals between Jessica and his hell and more Farah and the six golds in the total from Super Saturday are the highest points of the host nation’s achievement at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
Rutherford is also currently the British record holder for both outdoors (8.51 km) and indoors (8.26 m) as his personal best record. He also has held the title of being a five-time national outdoor champion along with a two-time national indoor champion.
After his departure from sports in 2018, he has now been a competent and determined contestant at dancing on eyes. He is now preparing for his anticipated debut in the upcoming episode of the show on January 14, for which he has been pushing his limits and impressing all the challenges that are coming his way.
