Dak Prescott, the quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, who has been with the team for the past eight seasons, has filed a lawsuit claiming that a woman is attempting to extort $100 million from him by threatening false sexual assault accusations.
In response, the woman’s attorney, Yoel Zehaie, announced on “GBag Nation” on The Fan 105.3 FM in Dallas that they plan to take the accusation against Prescott to criminal court. Zehaie mentioned that there are various aspects, both civil and criminal, for which they intend to sue Dak, and he indicated that other lawsuits are imminent.
While Zehaie did not provide specific details about the impending lawsuits, Prescott’s legal action, filed in Collin County against Victoria Shores and her legal team, alleges an extortion attempt involving a 2017 sexual assault claim.
The lawsuit contends that Shores is seeking $100 million to settle the matter, offering not to pursue criminal charges or disclose the information publicly in exchange for compensation for the mental anguish she claims to have suffered.
Prescott’s attorney, Levi McCarthern, characterized the allegations as “an extortion plot” in a statement.
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is facing a legal situation as he countersues an individual, identified as Gabrielle Shores, who accused him of sexual assault. Prescott’s lawyer, Larry McCarthern, strongly denied the allegations, stating that Prescott has never engaged in any nonconsensual sexual conduct.
And believes that perpetrators of such crimes should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. McCarthern labeled the accusations as “malicious lies” and emphasized Prescott’s commitment to the truth.
In response to Prescott’s lawsuit, Shores’ attorney, Blerim Zehaie, characterized it as a strategy to question the credibility of the accuser. He clarified that the communication sent to Prescott was a standard demand letter in the civil case process and refuted any claims of extortion.
Zehaie expressed disappointment in Prescott’s attempt to portray himself as a victim, emphasizing that their primary concern is Shores’ courage in coming forward.
The timing of Shores’ decision to share her story was discussed by Zehaie, highlighting the complexities of speaking out, especially against a high-profile figure like Dak Prescott.
He acknowledged the layers of fear and scrutiny that victims may face, given Prescott’s status as the quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys, a team often referred to as “America’s Team.”
Shores reportedly connected with her attorneys a few months ago, leading to the decision to reach out to Prescott. The NFL has acknowledged Prescott’s legal situation, but they have not provided a comment on the matter.
