Crimson Desert’s PC Version’s Denuvo Protection Reportedly Cracked Nearly Five Months After Launch

The PC version of Crimson Desert has reportedly become the latest game to see its Denuvo anti-tamper protection bypassed, nearly five months after its launch. According to a report from DSOGaming, the bypass was released by voices38, a figure who has recently gained attention in the game preservation and cracking community after reportedly bypassing Denuvo protection in multiple titles.

The reported development follows another high-profile Denuvo bypass released by the same individual for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. While the news has sparked discussion among PC gaming enthusiasts, it does not affect the official version of Crimson Desert, which continues to receive updates and post-launch support from developer Pearl Abyss.

Report claims Denuvo bypass arrives months after release

Released on PC in March 2026, Crimson Desert launched with Denuvo anti-tamper software added shortly before release. According to DSOGaming, it took nearly five months before the game’s protection was reportedly bypassed.

The publication noted that the reported bypass does not remove Denuvo from the game entirely. Instead, it functions as a workaround that still leaves the anti-tamper software running in the background. As a result, comparisons between the official version and the bypassed version are unlikely to provide meaningful performance differences.

The report also points out that publishers often keep Denuvo enabled while supporting downloadable content or future updates, only removing the software once active post-launch development has concluded. However, Pearl Abyss has not announced any plans to remove Denuvo from Crimson Desert.

Despite the reported bypass, Pearl Abyss remains focused on improving the game through regular updates. Since launch, the studio has released multiple patches aimed at refining combat mechanics, improving controls, and enhancing the overall single-player experience.

Crimson Desert is a single-player open-world action RPG built with several advanced graphical technologies, including ray tracing, FFT Ocean simulation, GPU-based cloth and hair simulation, volumetric fog, and interactive environmental effects such as dynamic vegetation and wind systems. These features helped establish the game as one of Pearl Abyss’ most technically ambitious releases.

Because the title continues to receive updates, any unofficial version would likely fall behind the latest official build as new patches and improvements are released. Pearl Abyss has also indicated that future updates will continue refining the campaign experience.
