The Helicopter Girls have made a name in the Korean music industry. CLC is an acronym for Crystal Clear. CLC is a South Korean K-pop girl group under Cube Entertainment. The official fandom name of the group is Cheshire, revealed on the 21st of June 2016. It was influenced by the group’s initial symbol, which had a cat’s face on it.
The Korean pop girl group CLC debuted on the 19th of March 2015 with their first album First Love. CLC started with a group of five members comprising Seunghee, Yujin, Seungyeon, Sorn, and Yeeun.
Later on the 29th of February 2016, the company announced two remaining members, Elkie and Eunbin, with the release of the album Refresh.
In May 2022, Cube Entertainment revealed that the group had ended its official activities and its global fansite service discontinued.

The Debut of CLC
Before debuting as the final five members of CLC, Seunghee, Yujin, Seungyeon, Sorn, and Yeeun had performed as backup dancers, modeling, street routines, and promotion in a reality show.
The 19th of March 2015 marked their debut in the industry with their first Extended Play, First Love, with five members. The other two members, Elkie and Eunbin, were introduced as the sixth and seventh members of the group, respectively.
CLC has released its eighth Korean and two Japanese Extended Plays, one single album, and four digital singles by 2022. First, Elkie announced her departure from the group and the company on the 3rd of February 2021. Then, Yujin participated in Mnet’s survival reality show Girls Planet 999 in 2021. She ranked in 3rd spot and debuted as a leader and member of the group Kep1er.
Later, after her contract was halted, Sorn officially quit CLC and Cube Entertainment on the 16th of November, 2021. Seungyeon and Yeeun also left the company when their contract was terminated on the 18th of March, 2022. According to the members, the group has not yet disbanded and waiting for their comeback, but there’s no official announcement as they are busy with their solo work.

The Members of CLC
Initially, CLC consisted of five members, including Seunghee, Yujin, Seungyeon, Sorn, and Yeeun. They debuted as CLC members and released their first EP, First Love. In 2016, Elkie and Eunbin were revealed as the two new members of the group with the release of their third EP, Refresh. Since then, CLC worked as a seven members group until the indefinite hiatus of the group.
Seunghee
Oh Seung Hee, popularly known as Seunghee, was born in Gwangju, South Korea, on the 10th of October 1995. She has the position of Main Vocalist in the group. She completed her education at the Cheongdam High School. 27-year-old Idol was a former leader of CLC.
Seunghee has also made an appearance in the G.NA’s Secret by G.NA Music Video. Also, she performed in the BTOB’s music video 2nd Confession. Seunghee is known for playing instruments like guitar and piano. Other than being an idol, she spends her days writing poems. She is still signed to Cube Entertainment.
Yujin
Choi Yu Jin, popularly known as Yujin, was born in Jeonju, North Jeolla, South Korea, on the 12th of August, 1996. She has the position of Lead Dancer, Sub Rapper, Center, Sub Vocalist, and Visual in the group. Yujin completed her education at the Hanlim Multi-Art High School. She speaks Korean and is fluent in Japanese.
Yujin has acted and appeared in many projects, including BTOB’s Beep Beep, G.NA’s Pretty Lingerie, Real Man, Nightmare Teacher (2016), and Green Fever (2017). In 2021, she became a part of Mnet’s survival reality show Girls Planet 999 and got a rank of 3rd.
As a result, Yujin debuted as an active member and leader of Kep1er but still signed under Cube Entertainment. Her MBTI type is ENFP-T.
Eunbin
Kwon Eun Bin, popularly known as Eunbin, was born in Seoul, South Korea, on the 6th of January, 2000. She has the position of Sub Vocalist, Sub Rapper, Maknae, and the Face of the Group. She completed her studies at the Onham Middle School.
Her other talent includes playing guitar and pole dancing. She can speak English. Eunbin was introduced to the group later in 2016 with Elkie. She has acted in several series, including Bad Papa (2018), Top Management (2018), At a Distance, Spring is Green (2021), Dear M (2022), and Duty After School (2023). Eunbin is still an artist under Cube Entertainment.
Seungyeon
Jang Seung Yeon, popularly known as Seungyeon, was born in Seongnam, Gyeonggi, South Korea, on the 6th of November, 1996. She has the position of Leader, Lead Vocalist, Main Dancer, and Sub Rapper in the group.
She has completed her education at the Seoul School of Performing Arts and has appeared in G.NA’s Secret and Beep Beep Music Videos. Suengyeon can speak Japanese fluently. After terminating the contract with Cube Entertainment, Suengyeon signed her contract with Wild Entertainment in February 2023.
Yeeun
Jang Ye Eun, popularly known as Yeeun, was born in Dongducheon, Gyeonggi, South Korea, on the 10th of August, 1998. She has the position of Main Rapper and Sub Vocalist in the group. Yeeun has completed her education at the Seoul Performing Arts High School.
She can fluently Korean, Japanese, Chinese, and English. Yeeun’s contract with Cube Entertainment expired in 2022, and she left the company. And later in the year, she signed under SuperBell Company and is currently active as a solo artist.
Sorn
Chonnasorn Sajakul, popularly known as Sorn, was born in Thailand on the 18th of November, 1996. She had the position of Lead Vocalist in the group. She completed her studies at Korea Kent Foreign School, KIS International School in Thailand. She is fluent in English, Korean, and also Chinese.
Sorn appeared in the Pretty Lingerie music video by G.NA. In 2021, she didn’t renew her contract and officially left Cube Entertainment and CLC. Later in December, she signed under Wild Entertainment to continue her career as a solo artist.
Elkie
Chong Ting Yan, popularly known as Elkie, was born in Hong Kong on the 2nd of November, 1998. She had the position of Lead Dancer, Lead Vocalist, and Visual in the group. Elkie completed her education at Carmel Pak U Secondary School. She is fluent in Cantonese, Korean, Mandarin, and English.
Elkie was once a part of Honey Bees, a Hong Kong girl group. She appeared in one of the BTOB’s I’ll be your man music videos and the Korean series Rich Family’s Son in 2018. She joined the group in 2016. In 2021 Elkie parted ways from CLC and Cube Entertainment after requesting it.
Albums of CLC
In their seven years of careers as K-pop idols in the group CLC, they have given some really incredible music to the industry. In 2015 all five members debuted with the first EP, First Love. The title track of the album was Pepe on the 19th of March.
Their first digital single was Eighteen in April. Later that year, CLC came up with their second Extended Play Question on the 28th of May, 2015. Their third EP, titled Refresh in 2016, and the main single was High Heels. It was the year when two new members were introduced to the group named Elkie and Eunbin.
The group’s first Japanese EP was High Heels on the 13th of April, 2016. It includes some of their previous album songs in Japanese versions. Then on the 30th of May, they dropped their fourth EP, Nu. Clear, and the lead track was No Oh Oh. In the same year, they released Chamisma, their second Japanese EP.
CLC released its fifth Extended Play, Crystyle, on the 17th of January 2017. This album gave them global recognition. Later on the 3rd of August, they made a comeback with their sixth EP, Free’sm. The title song was portmanteau.
To The Sky was their digital single, which was also the title track of their seventh EP, Black Dress, on the 22nd of February 2018. And later, on the 30th of January 2019, CLC came back with No. 1, their eighth Extended Play. The album’s lead track was No.
On the 29th of May, they released the digital single titled Me. And Devil was their fourth digital single, released on the 6th of September 2019. CLC released a single album, Helicopter, on the 2nd of September 2020. After that, all the members got busy with their solo projects.
The group’s activities officially ended, and the company revealed the discontinuation of their global fansite CLC U Cube.
