Great warrior Prince Pervaz was the hero of the Imperial Army who saved the Crown Prince from danger thirty years ago. Out of jealousy, the Crown Prince sent him to the task of eliminating the Loyer Tribe in the Northern lands.
The faithful knight who left, even though he knew the place was like a dead end. He was none other than Asha Pervaz’s father.
It seemed like he was exiled to Pervaz, the land abandoned by the Empire without any support. In the land where Asha Pervaz’s father was expelled to die, he fought fiercely and with all his strength.
However, he died on the battlefield. And after Asha Pervaz’s father’s death, his brothers fought with all their might.
After they all died, Asha Pervaz eventually took their place. Finally, the war is now over. Although the long war ended, their joy of victory did not last much.
They were going to starve before this extreme winter was over. So they go to the Pervaz castle to receive a reward from the Imperial family.
Well, Asha Pervaz concluded that she would not be able to get compensation easily. Because the Emperor who killed her father would not be willing to pay a reward.
However, she decides to go and speak to the Emperor once. As expected, the Emperor insults her. Then gives her a reward for choosing a man to marry her.
It was a ploy to withhold her victory rewards. The family she chooses should pay Pervaz instead of the Emperor in the name of ‘alimony’. Therefore, she chooses Duke Carlisle Haven. He was originally the Crown Prince but was quarantined four days ago due to an unfortunate accident.
Duke Carlisle Haven is also the person on the list of nobles who are not members of the Imperial Family. He was the highest-ranking nobleman. Asha Pervaz then tells the Emperor that if he refuses, then under the Imperial Decree, the son’s family would be obliged to pay alimony.
In other words, she will receive the victory rewards that she should have received from the Royal Family, but it will come from the foundation instead.
Asha Pervaz thinks that she has made the right decision as Duke Carlisle Haven would not want to marry a village girl. But to her surprise, he comes up to her and tells her that he accepts the marriage offer and is willing to marry her. Everyone is taken aback. There surely is a plan behind all this which we will only learn eventually.

As we saw in Chapter 26, there is a lot of gossip in the City of Arrogance’s social circles about Lord Carlisle Haven. He is rumored to be planning to call forth the powerful Demon Karakesh, which is the subject of Chapter Four of the Book of Hamark.
A shrine appears to be the center of attention for this sinister incident, and the Empress is deftly taking advantage of this circumstance. It is said that the middle class in society is affected by this rumor. At first, though, Lord Carlisle Haven is unaware of these conjectures.
As the narrative progresses, he eventually learns the sinister reality underneath the purported summoning ceremony. The desecration of 10 temples and the sacrifice of a hundred lives are the only ways to summon the formidable demon Karakesh.
Interestingly, the summoner in this instance, Lord Carlisle Haven, needs to be an individual who is not devoted to any gods. Lord Carlisle Haven is unaware that one of the characters in the story, Marthius, sees a chance in these rumors.
Martius plans to present himself as an angelic figure in the events as they transpire, hoping to capitalize on Lord Carlisle’s notoriety. This refers to a complex web of political intrigue, duplicity, and power conflicts within the City of Arrogance, where people utilize rumors and menacing rituals to further their own agendas.
