Recap
In the previous chapter of Chronicles Of The Martial God’s Return, Duan and the rest of his entourage leave the inn, but Somi ends up there alone. Obviously, that young kid felt a little depressed when the inn owner told her that Duan and the rest of them had left the inn for some time, but they were coming back soon.
The depressed kid made the old man feel a little guilty, and he offered her some dumplings, which totally brightened her mood. Somi was absolutely devouring the dumplings and complimenting them, which made other people in the inn order the dumplings as well.
The leader of the group, Ma Jangkang, apparently had a notorious reputation, and the people were obviously scared of him. He goes in front of Somi, which puts everyone in a state of panic, but surprisingly, he is pretty sweet to her and makes a friendly conversation.
That is when Duan returns, and they take Somi with them to their room. Duan tells everyone they will go to Henan the next day and thinks about how differently things are going than he had imagined. He didn’t want to make connections in the Murim anymore, but he somehow ended up doing exactly that.
The next day, the entourage leaves for Henan, but Ma Jangkang and his goons stop the carriage by blocking it. He was looking pretty threatening, and he even took out his sword. However, it seems like he only wanted to ask the group if they knew about the Twelve Hungry Ghosts.
