The series throws light on a police procedural drama series where we witness the daily lives of the officers in the lead. Back in Chicago PD Season 10 Episode 21, titled New Life, we saw it all about a new rookie entering the show named Dante Torres.

This definitely means the two have some history together. We soon get to know what actually went down in the past with him. When Torres was released from the juvie as a teenager, it was Ariza who recruited him and gave him a job. Getting a bit emotional, Dante talked about how he knew it was not the right choice, but all he wanted to do was protect his mother and family and, thus, had to get his hands dirty.
The episode starts off with a suspect as he is trying to shoot off his friend named Mia. Torres chases the man down and reaches an abandoned school. The man definitely has some information about Ariza and his whereabouts, and thus, it was interesting to see Torres so worked up about the same. Although, Voight was very much aware of this whole illegal interaction. Soon, the suspect ends up telling Torres everything.
The Officers Voight and Torres discuss everything that is related to Ariza and why Torres is so concerned about it all. After getting employed under him, Dante’s job was to beat people up and do terrible things for the drug lord. He says that he never killed anyone, actually, but it took a lot of beating on himself and even getting subjected to waterboarding when he was trying to leave Ariza’s service.
Well, Torres is obviously scared about being fired from the force. Although, Voight decides to cover up for him and says that their interaction will not be leaked to the media or his friends at all. But Voight will see him in the district. After all this time, we think that Torres might still have a good shot at remaining at the Intelligence Unit.
