On the eighth episode of this program, Dr. Ethan Choi made a comeback. But he wasn’t in full bloom for the rest of the team. On another point, Dr. Taylor worked with Dr. Charles on a case and took notice of her audacity as well as possible drug use. Furthermore, Dr. Hammer worked on a case that made her tell her mom that she was the culprit for the towing of her van. This and many other happenings took place in this hospital drama. As Dr. Marcel’s focus shifted to organ donor surgery, his recommendation put the surgical team under strain, but it was a success. Dr. Blake then checked him because of his self-doubt. Dr. Halstead pressed Dr. Cooper for the truth when they were at a meeting. He was almost there until Copper passed out from an overdose, and Halstead saved his life. The VasCom gadget was scrapped and then revived due to board-level politics.

Chicago Med season 7 episode 9 will release on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at 8:00 PM Eastern Time, United States. Why so far away? Because of the way that the NBC network handles their ratings in regards to the Thanksgiving programming grid. You see, NBC has special programs for the holidays, the Wednesday after the Thanksgiving festivities. In consequence, the release date is an estimation. It would be a very unusual move in the rating sake to air a program in that time frame. Having said that, NBC hasn’t released any official intel or synopsis regarding that show’s ninth episode. Moreover, this episode in December might be the only one since we expect some installments to drop in January. Still, it’s up to them to release the pertinent information.

Dr. Crockett kicks off Chicago Med tonight. Marcel (Dominic Rains) sits in the bar with Avery Quinn (Johannan Braddy), sipping beers when Dr. Dylan Scott (Guy Lockard) comes in, still talking to relatives and friends who work at the police station. They discuss his Uncle Joe and believe that others in positions of power are attempting to make an example of him. Crockett receives a text from Avery’s mother refusing a nightcap with her daughter. A disagreement breaks out between Dylan’s Uncle Joe and a client who attacks him. Avery is concerned about his Uncle, who is bleeding from the forehead, and they call a halt to the fight as Dylan walks his Uncle out of the pub while Crockett attends to the other customer; Dylan worries about his Uncle and how deep down the rabbit hole he has fallen.
Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) informs Sharon Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson) that he will visit his patient when his wife has left. Will believes that his patient, Dr. Matt Cooper (Michael Rady), is going to reveal the Vas Com fraud, but they are stopped when Jessa Rinaldi (Angela Wong Carbone) comes to visit Matt. She is in a state of shock, assuming Matt was alright at the convention center and suspecting it was her fault since she questioned his involvement in the death of another patient. Jessa is happy that it isn’t her fault and goes to see Matt, leaving Will smiling in the corridor.
Dylan pays a visit to Uncle Joe, who is hooked up to an IV. He expresses gratitude to D and his father for always watching out for him. They talked about the event when he got into a confrontation with a rookie who lied and had to see a shrink. Uncle Joe refused to say anything since he would be put out to pasture sooner. Dylan advises he consult Dr. Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt). He claims it will make his wife, Marsha, happy, and he agrees since he has to wait for plastics to patch him up.
Dr. Dean Archer (Steven Weber) approaches Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee) at the nurse’s station and inquires as to how he is doing so well so soon after his return. Maggie Lockwood (Marlyne Barrett) interrupts them with an approaching trauma, which Choi accepts, and Archer agrees. They bring in Marcus Clemons, who was in a car accident, and Crockett joins them. Crockett welcomes Ethan back but refuses to let him move the patient board onto the gurney. Crockett tries to generate the hernia manually, and they believe it is manual, but when it fails, they try other ways and do additional testing.
Sharon summons everyone, including Dr. Vanessa Taylor (Asjha Cooper), and informs them that they are there to undertake random drug testing, which Maggie will monitor and give time slots for. Everyone is required to provide samples today and before signing out on that day, which causes Vanessa to fear. Meanwhile, Dr. Stevie Hammer (Kristen Hager) is in the doctor’s locker room, where Will discovers her on the phone, attempting to locate her mother, who has gone missing since their argument the night before. She acknowledges that her mother may be attempting to score since she has previously resorted to drugs when things have gone wrong. Will offers to accompany her, but when she rejects, he claims that everyone, even the Hammer, needs support and agrees to meet her outside.
When Dr. Charles comes to visit Uncle Joe, Dylan excuses himself so that they may chat alone. Joe is hoping that he would just prescribe drugs and explain why Marsha left him but wanted him on prescriptions; and that if she sees that he is adhering to her advice for once, she will allow him to move back in. He retracts his statement as Dr. Charles explains that he would feel the same way if someone fresh tried to teach him how to do things. Maggie overhears Vanessa vomiting in the bathroom. She pretends to be suffering from food illness as Maggie expresses her worries. Vanessa requests another test date, and Maggie responds that she will adjust her time slot and then she may go home. Maggie gives her a slew of medical advice as Vanessa begins to feel better and announces her intention to stay.
Crockett meets Dr. Pamela Blake (Sarah Rafferty), who is upset because he did not answer her call since he missed a once-in-a-lifetime case. He claims he was too drunk to drive because she felt she misunderstood something. She feels he didn’t appreciate the opportunity because he chose to drink and party over the opportunity. Ethan hands over scans to Crockett, who evaluates them and determines that their patient requires an emergency procedure, which Ethan disagrees with. Crockett is determined to perform his surgery because Ethan wants the shot to be done the old-fashioned way. Crockett is concerned about Ethan’s injuries and apologizes, explaining that if it may have a detrimental influence on the patient, he cannot do it and bookings the OR.
Joe continues to speak with Dr. Charles about his boss, who is much younger than him and is squandering money that the department is meant to provide to the department but is instead utilizing for himself. Joe says he’ll do something if this isn’t fixed, but when pressed, he merely asks about the drugs again. Stevie discovers her mother is attempting to sell a gold bracelet, indicating that she is desperate for money for drugs. She admits to Will that it is her bracelet, but her mother is not a thief; he suggests calling his brother Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer), a Chicago PD officer, but she refuses, stating that she has already served a stint and will not do it to her again.
Daniel catches Joe attempting to leave the hospital, telling him that the medication is their last option and that he wants to call Dylan, but Joe refuses to bother him and leaves anyway. Dr. Choi locates his patient and informs him that he will see Dr. Marcel in the OR. His wife would not come to the hospital since she might go into labor at any minute, and he is terrified for her but believes he doesn’t have any other alternatives. Ethan glances at him, irritated as he tears.
Dr. Charles goes to see Sharon, explaining Joe’s rage and how he knew the Sergeant’s and his wife’s habits in surprising detail, pretty sure he is stalking them. Sharon says that without a specific threat, they cannot commit him, but Daniel has a duty to warn the Sergeant, which is a syndrome; worried that Dylan will never forgive him or send him an officer in trouble again. Sharon is heartbroken at the situation, but she swears to be there for Daniel no matter what happens.
Maggie discovers Vanessa weeping on the roof and informs her that they have been searching for her. As Maggie attempts to support Vanessa through the assault, Vanessa starts to panic. Vanessa confesses to using Adderall without a prescription for the previous three weeks in order to get through school and residency. She declares that she threw out all the drugs but took one the night before and that she will fail this test. Maggie rises up, contemplating for a minute while Vanessa worries that she will not pass the exam. Maggie swears they will sort it out, instructing her what to do, and they will run an off-the-books exam and see where she is at, but this is the last Adderall she ever takes and goes to take care of her.
Will and Stevie arrive at a trap house, where she displays images of her mother. Will walks upstairs to check the place. Stevie goes around the rooms of numerous drug addicts lying over damaged furniture. She comes across a young girl who points to her mother, who is drugged out and laying completely unconscious on the couch. Dr. Archer says Ethan made a very compelling case for the reduction, and Archer agrees that it is still safe and that if it doesn’t work out, there is no harm or foul, and he can still perform the procedure, but Ethan is doing his first. The alarm goes off, and Maggie is with Vanessa, reading the findings, which reveal that the Adderall is still present in her system, but only in trace amounts, as Vanessa warns she will still lose everything.
Maggie provides Vanessa Lasix to dilute her urine and instructs her on how to do it in order for her drug test to pass; Vanessa swears she will never take drugs again. Marcus screams as Ethan continues to work on the hernia, requesting stronger leverage and an angle while Crockett recommends heading upstairs. Ethan removes his own brace, noting that it is too restricting, and is able to wriggle the hernia, indicating that they have this and yelling out as they are able to reassemble everything, Archer instructing Crockett to cancel the OR. Ethan shakes Marcus’ hand and reminds him to watch after his kid. Crockett is about to congratulate Ethan when he suddenly gives him a blank stare and falls down in anguish, stating he needs an MRI on himself, and Crockett assists him in moving.
