He checked her pulse and then moved to see if she was breathing but putting his finger on her nose. After a few more inspections, he sat up looking at her, not reacting for a while. This is understandable since he has gone through many transformations psychologically, all of them breaking him down little by little.
This incident did the same, as he finally came to expect that his mother was no more and had passed away. He didn’t know how to react, and his emotional state just broke at that moment, making him laugh. An uncanny that boomed in the house where he lived alone with his mother trapped with her since the beginning.

Chi no Wadachi Chapter 151 should be about Seiichi and his family members arranging a funeral for his mother. The mood will be a dark one, the kind that is found around the passing of a person, but it will be a matter of perspective for everyone. Some will mourn her death and recall the memories of the past when they were together with her.
But this is the kind of manga that throws a wrench at readers out of nowhere. And still be able to make sense of everything that comes up, Seiichi being one of them in the last chapter. There are a few threads that the story could pick up after the next chapter is over. Or, Seiichi could become the very person he had been fighting all along. Hard to say, but it is exciting to look forward to.
