The festivities included fellow country star Kenny Chesney, her mother, and a group of close friends, including Alysa Vanderheym. While on an early morning flight, she overheard a young fan excitedly approach Stokes, who was seated behind her. She described how graciously he interacted with the fan, giving her his full attention despite the early hour. Ballerini admitted she didn’t know him personally then but was moved by his kindness.
Reflecting on the encounter, Ballerini shared how it left a lasting impression. “It was such a beautiful thing to see,” she said, noting that she recognized him from Outer Banks even though they were in different stages of life at the time. The moment became a cherished memory before they officially crossed paths.
Ballerini also confirmed in October that she and Stokes had taken a big step in their relationship: moving in together. The milestone was celebrated in her music, as she hinted at the development in her song “Baggage,” from her latest album, Patterns. Stokes, who has supported her professionally and personally, even appeared in the music video for her single “First Rodeo.”
