Smilegate has officially rolled out a major update for Chaos Zero Nightmare, bringing Galactic Disaster Season 3 to its conclusion with the newly released story chapter titled “Starry Night.” The update not only advances the narrative but also introduces a new playable Combatant, fresh gameplay systems, and multiple limited-time events aimed at expanding the player experience.
The update is now live, marking an important milestone for the dark fantasy roguelike RPG as it wraps up one of its key seasonal story arcs.
“Starry Night” Brings Season 3 Story to a Close
At the center of the update is “Starry Night,” the third and final chapter of the Galactic Disaster Season 3 storyline. The narrative focuses on Tenebria, a galaxy-renowned idol whose story becomes intertwined with a major incident that threatens the fate of another vessel, the SS Edenity.
Players take on the role of the Captain aboard the SS Nightmare, steering through the unfolding crisis while engaging in new Chaos content. The update offers additional rewards through gameplay, including special currency that can be exchanged for Core items, which allow Save Data editing, along with Signal Amplification Anchors and growth materials.
This final chapter aims to deliver both narrative closure and meaningful progression rewards, making it a key update for players invested in the ongoing story.
Tenebria Joins as a New Psionic Combatant

One of the biggest additions in this update is Tenebria herself, now available as a new Combatant. Classified as a Psionic-type character with the Passion attribute, she introduces a unique playstyle centered around the “Rhythm” keyword.
Tenebria excels at dealing high damage by consuming allied basic attack cards and triggering chain attacks using Rhythm-based mechanics. This system encourages strategic card usage, rewarding players who can effectively manage timing and synergy during combat.
Alongside her, the Partner character Aria has also been introduced. When equipped to a Psionic Combatant, Aria boosts Attack and Critical Damage, further enhancing Tenebria’s offensive capabilities.
Jukebox System Adds New Way to Experience Music
The update also introduces a brand-new feature called the Jukebox system. Accessible directly from the game’s lobby, this system allows players to listen to over 60 tracks featured in Chaos Zero Nightmare.
This addition expands the game’s non-combat experience, giving players more ways to engage with its soundtrack outside of active gameplay. For a title that blends dark fantasy with stylized elements, the Jukebox serves as a welcome quality-of-life feature for fans who enjoy the game’s music.
Limited-Time Events Bring Rhythm-Based Gameplay
To celebrate the release of the update, Smilegate has launched several time-limited events. One of the highlights is a rhythm game-style event where players can perform alongside Tenebria and Aria in a concert-themed setting.
By completing rhythm challenges and in-game achievements, players can earn rewards through an exchange shop. These rewards include valuable resources that support character progression and gameplay advancement.
In addition, the “Tenebria Exclusive Coverage” event offers daily missions that grant Crystals, Core items, and other materials. Other ongoing events include a check-in bonus campaign and increased rewards for Memory Fragment collection, giving players multiple ways to benefit during the event period.
Developer Confirms Continued Focus on New Experiences
Smilegate has emphasized that the update is part of its broader effort to keep the game evolving. Kim Joo Hyung, Director at Smilegate, shared in a statement:
“We hope players enjoy the final story of Galactic Disaster Season 3. With the debut of the Jukebox system and a new rhythm game-style event, we’ve added new ways to experience Chaos Zero Nightmare. We will continue striving to deliver new and exciting experiences to our players.”
This statement highlights the developer’s intention to expand gameplay variety while maintaining the core identity of the title.
