Chaos Zero Nightmare (CZN), the dark fantasy roguelike RPG developed by Super Creative and published by Smilegate, has officially expanded its roadmap with the reveal of its upcoming Season 4 update titled “Shattered Light and Claw.” The announcement was made during a panel session at Anime Expo 2026 in Los Angeles, where developers showcased new story direction, combatants, and evolving gameplay systems.

The season is part of the larger “Galactic Disaster” update arc and is scheduled for release on July 28, marking one of the game’s most significant content expansions to date. Alongside the release date, the developers also introduced three new playable combatants—Hilde, Arabella, and Olga—each bringing distinct weapon styles and combat mechanics. The panel also highlighted upcoming customization systems designed to deepen narrative immersion and character progression, signaling a major evolution in CZN’s long-term live-service strategy.

Season 4 “Shattered Light and Claw” Officially Announced

During the Anime Expo 2026 panel, Super Creative confirmed that Season 4 is titled “Shattered Light and Claw” under the broader Galactic Disaster storyline. The update is positioned as a key narrative expansion for Chaos Zero Nightmare, continuing its dark fantasy sci-fi direction while introducing new world-building elements tied to cosmic destruction themes.

The panel, held at the Los Angeles Convention Center, also featured insights from PD Kim Hyung Suk, who emphasized the team’s creative philosophy of “developer sincerity” in shaping anime-style RPG experiences.

Three new characters were officially revealed with concept illustrations and early skill animations. Hilde is a ranged archer specializing in precision attacks, Arabella uses a flexible whip-like blade for close-range control combat, and Olga wields a massive scythe designed for heavy-impact melee damage. Each character introduces distinct gameplay styles that expand combat diversity.

Customization System and Future Updates

A new outfit-based customization system was also showcased. Characters equipped with outfits will gain exclusive voice lines and additional story content. Seasonal combatants such as Heidemarie and Sereniel will also receive expanded outfit variations as part of ongoing updates.

Smilegate confirmed further global announcements will follow in Korea and other regions.
