We live in a world where anime and manga are constantly trending. New anime series are announced almost every day, and so are new manga adaptations. As Shueisha strikes the manga industry with a huge number of sales, we are presented with yet another good news. Japanese manga has started taking over global readers. The first evidence of it came when One Piece dominated the overall sales of Batman by gaining an overall sale of more than 400 million copies. While this happened in 2021, 2022 brings us yet another proof that manga is becoming increasingly popular among the international crowd.
New York Times recently released its Graphic Books and Manga list, and three of Shueisha’s Manga volumes made it to the list. In the list, Chainsaw Man is seen as the highest-ranking manga, and we are more than proud of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s work. The recently announced anime adaptation of the manga by MAPPA sent a thrill down several fans of the work. It is quite visible that the manga is doing better than ever, even before the anime has been released.
With Chainsaw Man ranked highest among manga, fans are rejoiced and satisfied with the accuracy in the said rank.
Chainsaw Man Ranked Highest in The New York Times Graphics Books and Manga List
The Graphics Books and Manga list released in The New York Times features the top fifteen bestseller books, based on the sales of December. In the most recent list published in January 2022, the list lays down some of the best books published in the previous year. Among them, ranking on number 8th is Chainsaw Man. Being the first manga to appear in this list, it also makes Chainsaw Man the highest-ranking manga according to the Graphics Books and Manga list.
While we celebrate Chainsaw Man, let’s not forget two more manga series that paved their way into the list. The second-highest-ranking manga on the list is Jujutsu Kaisen Volume 13, ranked at number 10th. This is followed by Jujutsu Kaisen Volume 0 in the 13th rank.
Furthermore, the Demon Slayer Volume 2 manga has been ranked 15 on the list.
