In Chainsaw Man by Tatsuki Fujimoto, Asa and Fami’s rescue mission at the Tokyo Devil Detention Center is full of unexpected wins and clumsy missteps.
Ever since Asa discovered the truth about Denji, the arc’s excitement has only grown. Quanxi has chosen not to harm the group due to a trusted friend and requests Yoru to end her life.
Chainsaw Man Chapter 162, titled Fearsome, picks up from the previous chapter with the reveal of Quanxi. Despite attempts to distract her with false respect, the Nail Fiend’s efforts fail.
Quanxi anticipates and thwarts attacks from both Nail and Katana Man, swiftly decapitating the latter. Yoru improvises a weapon from a scalpel, crafting a Scalpel Sword.
Meanwhile, Haruka Iseumi accidentally drops Denji’s head. Yoru and Nail clash briefly with Quanxi, but her strength overwhelms them.
Quanxi slams Yoru into a wall and stabs Nail multiple times. As Quanxi moves towards Nobana Higashiyama, Denji’s head is instinctively used as a shield, briefly stopping her advance.
Takagi encourages Nobana to act. Quanxi admits she refrains from attacking Denji due to advice from a trusted friend, recognizing the threat he poses.
Takagi reveals Quanxi’s true reason for being with Public Safety: to recover the bodies of her past lovers. However, he is fatally ambushed from behind by his Chainsaw-fied wife, who escaped with Katana Man’s help.
As she consumes his remains, the Nail Fiend finds amusement in the irony, reminiscing about a prior run-in with Katana Man.
Quanxi suggests a deal to the group, offering to fake defeat so they can kill her without repercussions, as she, like Chainsaw Man, cannot truly die. Before agreeing, Yoru asks about their relative strengths.
Quanxi admits Chainsaw Man is weaker but much more terrifying than herself. Chapter 162 of Chainsaw Man ends with Yoru raising her sword, ready to discreetly end Quanxi’s life.
Expectation
In Chapter 163 of Chainsaw Man, Yoru might propose to aid Quanxi in exchange for her loyalty, possibly by retrieving the bodies of Quanxi’s lovers.
This agreement could create a rift within the group, with one faction focused on reviving Denji while the other follows Quanxi’s request.
