Denji and Pochita are the main characters of the manga ‘Chainsaw Man’. And as you might already be aware or would have guessed, Denji is the Chainsaw man, and Pochita is his dog.
Due to desperate conditions, they both couldn’t help but merge as one under a contract. The contractual condition was that Pochita would give his heart to Denji and fulfill his wishes which Denji would save the world by becoming a devil hunter.
One fine day, on his way to finding a job as a devil hunter and while running away so that he doesn’t get hunted himself, he meets Miss Makima. Miss Makima is a public safety devil hunter.
Speaking of devil hunters, there are more than a hundred thousand devil hunters in Tokyo, including civilians. On hearing this, Denji is quite excited and eager to join the work along with Miss Makima.
Things get rough for Denji as he learns that the people who go into this job for shallow reasons end up dead, and those who became devil hunters just for the money get killed by devils. The only ones alive are those with strong convictions.
Though Denji has joined this job just for Miss Makima, which is a really shallow reason, he is willing to give up on his life and die this way instead of struggling for food and dying of hunger on the streets of Tokyo. Also, don’t forget that his life isn’t his life alone!
Previously on Chainsaw Man Chapter 133: Recap
Previously in ‘Chainsaw Man Chapter 133’, we saw that the protesting people were calling for public safety and treating Chainsaw Man as a devil. They all wanted him down. They were determined to show everyone the power of these pro-protestors. And also, the guys clashing with the protestors were followers of the Chainsaw Man church thing.
Before the Chainsaw Man, church consisted largely of the Chainsaw Man’s fans and devil victims. Recently, though, increasing numbers of young people are joining for the hell of it. The membership now exceeds 20,000. The bulk of them are still in school, but eventually, they will be old enough to vote.
Apparently, politicians are already starting to contribute supplies to the church too. Now Chainsaw Man himself did not have sole control over ‘Chainsaw Man’. However, Chainsaw Man wished that it would stop at these smaller protests, but there was a chance of Chainsaw Mania evolving into a larger conflict.
Nayuta suggested Chainsaw Man do nothing. Nayuta wanted Denji never to transform into Chainsaw Man again. This was Denji’s chance to be human again and live life normally for once, which has been a dream since the very beginning.
Denji had changed. He had grown to love his role. He wanted to be Chainsaw Man. He wanted everyone’s attention. He did not want to be normal. Denji now had to choose between Nayuta’s life and his not-so-greedy desire to be a Chainsaw Man.
