The top celebrities in Hollywood mingled side by side at the American Film Institute’s AFI Awards on Friday afternoon in Beverly Hills.
Selena Gomez, Pedro Pascal, Margot Robbie, Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert Downey Jr. Quinta Brunson, Jeremy Allen White, Tracee Ellis Ross, Paul Giamatti, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Willem Dafoe, and Ramy Youssef were among the guests listed at the Four Seasons.
Creatives, directors and stars of those projects were in attendance, including American Fiction‘s Cord Jefferson, Jeffrey Wright, Sterling K. Brown and Erika Alexander and Barbie‘s Greta Gerwig.
Ayo Edeberi, star of “The Bear,” snapped a picture of the “Past Lives” team on the red carpet. Unsurprisingly, Steven Spielberg was among the most sought-after men in the ballroom, engaging in lengthy conversations with Bradley Cooper, Greta Gerwig, and Celine Song.
Carey Mulligan bolted across the room at Robbie after rushing up to Emma Stone. The benediction for the afternoon was given by Ellen Burstyn. She appreciated AFI for honoring ten motion pictures and television series and for not turning the nomination process into a contest. She expressed her opinion, saying that
She likes this idea of honoring 10 movies and 10 television shows and just leaving it at that. Not having five people nominated and invited to a big gala event where one person wins and four losers go home. She has been on both ends of that stick. It’s not fun.
Even though there were many on the red carpet, Margot Robbie looked extremely beautiful in the vintage Chanel look.
Margot Robbie was seen in a vintage look
Margot Robbie, actress and producer, wore a vintage Chanel ensemble for the AFI Awards Luncheon at the Four Seasons Hotel in Los Angeles, channeling her Barbie persona. The actress accessorized her antique Chanel handbag, belt, and pin to show off her toned midriff.
The Chanel tweed jacket, chain belt, and diamond pin are from the upscale retailer’s Spring 1995 line, known as the Barbie line, aptly named for the actress who portrayed the beloved figure in the Barbie film that ruled the box office the previous year. Margot was stunned in the button-up tweed jacket, which had little Chanel emblems on the buttons.
The gorgeous blonde actress accessorized the orange dress with the brand’s red and black flower-shaped pin, exactly as Claudia did when she wore it for the ready-to-wear collection on the runway in 1995.
She dressed it with a high-waisted black mini skirt and added the classic Chanel gold chain belt, also modeled on the Chanel runway by Claudia. An anklet, patent black shoes, and a Chanel handbag with quilted black and gold accents completed her stylish ensemble.
The actress, who has been a Chanel ambassador since 2018, sported her signature wavy tresses with minimal makeup, highlighting her stunning natural beauty. Margot wore several Chanel ensembles in the film Barbie, along with signature Chanel accessories, including a multicolored, vintage-gold-studded necklace.
She has been rocking Barbie-inspired ensembles for red carpet events and Barbie promotional screenings throughout the past year. Chanel has also collaborated with the blockbuster of 2023, Barbie, which starred Margot Robbie. The collaboration featured five outfits created by Virginie Viard, the creative director of the brand.
In a video posted on Chanel’s website, Margot is seen saying that
Barbie has been connected to fashion brands throughout history, and wearing high fashion definitely feels right for the character.
