Recap and Review of Chapter 36
Carnephelia is reading the old physician’s book, which contains information regarding the former Emperors of Hellsdante. She is trying to find the cure for her lover Helis, as his situation is growing worse day by day.
Later, she stumbles upon some information regarding the curse, which indicates the loss of sudden magic at an early age can make the person weak, even gravely Ill. Finding no solution to her queries, Carnephelia now intends to seek the help of a former renowned noble, Marquis Zentiad.
Carnephelia is ardent to make her beloved healthy again, and to do that; she is willing to step upon any danger. However, before she takes off to her meeting with Marquis, she is stopped by one of her mages who warns her about Marquis while also narrating the misfortune that befell the Zentiad family.
It seems like Prince Ianfried is the cause of all problems, and it needs to stop. Heeding all the warnings given to her, she then heads to seek an audience with Marquis.
She arrives at the meeting place and finds Marquis sitting all alone by himself. He gives her a cold demeanor, which makes it clear that he cannot tolerate the Hellsdante family. Regardless of this silence welcome, Carnephelia starts off the conversation by mentioning his second son’s death.
Marquis, hearing about his son from the mouth of a Hellsdante family member, makes him angry, and he lashes out all the blame on them.
He proceeds to tell Carnephelia that her family offered no solace or fairness to the matter. Instead, he was told to move on with his life and accept his son’s death.
Carnephelia can certainly not bring his son back, but she is also saddened by what happened to Marquis’s family. As she comes here to receive help for Helis, she tells Marquis that she will expose all the people behind this plot and their intentions. And the chapter ends there.

Carnephelia is worried for Helis as he is not recovering but instead becoming unhealthier every day. Finding no clues in the books, she decides to visit the Marquis Zentiad for help, but she is also aware that as the Marquis harbors tremendous hatred towards her family, getting any kind of assistance will be hard. Also, Marquis does not seem the type of man who can be reasoned with.
He becomes angry after Carnephelia pays her grievances for his dead son. But she assures him that they both are walking on the same of revenge and she will help him to get justice.
In return, Carnephelia gives Marquis a truce so that he can also agree to help her. In the next chapter, they will be working together against Prince Ianfried’s plot to take him down and reveal the other family members’ evil deeds.
