Onoe, a journalist for Dash!, a weekly publication, is paired with Kaburagi and moved to the celebrity gossip section. Yumi Asaoka, an actress known for her many commercial roles, is the subject of the two’s assignment as a stakeout team.
Onoe is annoyed when he observes Kaburagi acting differently among other people while keeping far from him, but he also discovers that Kaburagi is dedicated to his profession. Onoe deduces that Ksei Mano, a member of the yakuza, is the person Asaoka is with when Kaburagi snaps a photo of her.
This leads her to believe that he is the reason for her fame. In Episode 2, To discover additional incriminating images of Asaoka and Mano, Onoe and Kaburagi scout the area.
