The story has now crossed to the point Premise promised, and we will see the direction it will take further down the line.
That is not to say something major has happened in these past chapters; a lot of things are yet to be done. Both of the leads have yet to be fully capable and have faith in themselves. The male lead, in particular, has yet to find his place in the world for the melodramatic idiot he is.
Yumejoshi doesn’t have much character development; it is mostly on the back burner, and the acquisition is the main focus at the end of the day. This story is also going down that route, with MC being what he is. The female lead being the vampire in the relationship is a new one but a welcomed change.

Can Love Blossom in a Poisoned Heart? Chapter 21 will have the story roll and set itself apart to assert its identity. However, this is not to say that the story will not follow the common story beats.
This is a romance story with a focus on the female lead being the provider and caretaker. If anything, we will see generic tropes being popped right around the end of the first season. If the story is only limited to one season, then it won’t matter. Things will be fast, and the characters might even be erratic at times to carry the plot to the next event.
But, the story doesn’t indicate ending too early; it should go for two long seasons at least. The ending is going to be alright (all of them have the same ending), but it is the process that matters in the end for these stories.
