Call the Midwife Season 13 Episode 5 Recap
In addition, Cyril has started working as a Child Welfare Officer. As part of his new position, he will be accompanying local families to a new play program that Nonnatus House has established. Announcing that everyone is invited to the seashore outing, he makes his way to greet the mothers and kids. But Lindi Webster, a very young expecting mother who already has a daughter named Danielle, is causing the midwives some worry.
On the day of the first beach excursion, everyone boards the coaches and soon there is a convoy of colourful balloon-decorated vehicles travelling toward the beach. Even though the weather is typical for summer in Britain, everyone is having a great day, and Phyllis is taking lots of pictures of them having a good time.
But soon after Lindi enters labour, things drastically change since Phyllis and Miss Higgins have to rush her and Danielle back to Poplar so that Lindi may give birth at the maternity home rather than in a car! Fortunately, they return just in time, and with Phyllis’s assistance, Lindi gives birth to a stunning daughter. Melvin, Lindi’s partner, soon shows up with all of his friends, and a very strict Miss Higgins throws them out.
However, despite their youth, the couple seemed content with their new baby. But back at the beach, tragedy strikes when May, the Turners’ foster daughter, disappears among the chaos of Lindi going into labour. Everyone pitches in to help find the girls since Patrick and Shelagh are so distraught that May and her sister Angela have vanished from sight.
Shelagh’s blood turns cold when she asks where May is and Angela replies that she went into the sea, even if Angela is soon discovered safe and sound. Joyce and Cyril, who can also sense the disturbance, rush into the water to save May after they see her fighting to remain afloat in the waves.
