However, the borders slowly start to merge. Hazel thought she left her past for good but was unaware that her boss is following her every move. Eliot enters Hazel’s life and becomes her comrade and lover. But he turns out to be a spy, that’s the first major twist of the tale. Hazel’s boss Von contacts her through Eliot and demands one last kill. Although she agrees, she decides to kill Von instead.

Besides Joy and Eliot, there are more people in Hazel’s life who come into play. Joy’s boyfriend Travis secretly abuses her. So, when Hazel learns about this, she goes all mafia on him and almost kills him. Despite keeping her profile low-key, she couldn’t contain her anger when it was about her daughter’s life. Another important person in the story is Javier, the man who helps her start her new life in Barstow. He helps her run the diner as well.

So, on her mission to kill Von, she learns two shocking truths. The first is that Eliot is actually working for Von. And second is that her boss, aka Von, is actually her father, who trained her for this life. After a long fight, Hazel finally shoots Von dead and returns to Barstow.

Everything seems to be over with the villain being dead, but it’s not what it seems. When she returns to Barstow, she finds her friend Javier missing. But she finds him being beaten to death by a few thugs. She fights them off, but they fire bullets at her and leave her bleeding.

Javier, along with a young girl (possibly his daughter), is taken by the thugs. But when all hopes seem lost, it is Eliot who comes to the rescue. He helps Hazel, who survived those gunshots, and that’s where the film ends.

The ending of Buried in Barstow leaves a lot of loose ends. And since it ends with ‘to be continued,’ a sequel is coming for sure. The end explains a few things, like the possibility of Eliot and Hazel reconciling. Since he was the one to save her, he might be on her side now. Things don’t look good for Mr. Javier, but with Hazel still alive, there is hope.

Is There Going To Be A Sequel?

According to Lifetime’s statement, Buried in Barstow is supposed to be a series of films. Although there is no official announcement, another sequel is going to be there. The makers of the film wish to go further than 1 or 2 sequels.

Angie Harmon, who plays Hazel King, is also an executive producer. And talking about follow-up films, she said, “I would like for there to be six to eight,” adding, “if people keep liking them, we’ll keep making them.
