In chapter 59, Eita is confronted by Erika, who still has lingering feelings for him. Even though they have broken up, Kisarazu tries to take advantage of this and teases him by proposing to Erica. Because of this, Eita decides to act selfishly, and this propels him to catch the ball.

Bungo Chapter 59 Recap

In the previous chapter, which is Chapter 59 of Bungo, the pitcher thinks back on his pitching skills in the last pitch he had thrown to Katsuura, he is sure that even though it was not bad, it is not nearly enough. He can do much better if he works faster; he can get a strike. As he learns from his previous pitch to Katsuura, he throws a fastball to Katsuura, he is sure that Katsuura cannot hit it. But he is unaware that Katsuura is all warmed up and ready to bat.

He puts up a fearless front and gives a strong swing using his bat and earns cheers from all as he heads towards the base. Now if Katsuura ends up clearing it without the ball getting caught, he might earn points. Eita is all ready to catch it soon. The scene shifts to the past, where Eita is practicing throwing balls. As Eita is not sure about the condition Bungo is in he tries to give it his all and mentally prepares himself.

Suddenly his practice is interrupted by Erika, who congratulates him on entering finals and hands him a box of energy drinks and fruits and snacks. Eita refuses. Kisarazu tells them he’ll take Erika instead of Eita since Eita is unable to accept her. he gets down on one knee and proposes to her genuinely. He tells her he is serious about her.

Eita stops him angrily. They start bickering about what they both want. Kisarazu tells he has to right to stop him since they both have broken up but Eita is very selfish, and he cannot give up easily.

All these emotions accumulate at the end of the game. As the ball is heading far away from Eita, he runs with all his might to catch it. He is sure he can take care of this ball, so he puts his all in reaching to catch it and the chapter ends there.
