Japanese anime series Buddy Daddies is produced by Nitroplus and Aniplex and animated by P.A. Works. It’s directed by Yoshiyuki Asai, and written by Vio Shimokura, with music composed by Katsutoshi Kitagawa of Round Table.
This anime tells the story of two friends who have a shady profession, Kazuki Kurusu and Rei Suwa. During Christmas, when Miri Masaka was roaming around the hotel lobby, her father died, and she met Kazuki Kurusu and Rei Suwa because of an accident that led them to care for her.
It is wholesome and colorful. Miri is too adorable to handle for a 4-year-old, and you can’t handle her cuteness. The two buddies can’t leave the girl alone, so they keep her while they look for her birth father. The wittiness of a four-year-old, who does not shy away from sharing her blunt thoughts, would be exciting to witness among two friends who rarely communicate.
We see in episode 5 that Due to a lack of funds, Kazuki and Rei must ask Kyutaro for work. Although Kyutaro does not trust them with assassinations, he assigns them several intelligence-gathering missions. Unfortunately, the daycare suffers from a flu outbreak and closes for a week. To gain an understanding of her parents’ careers, Miri’s parents must take care of her at home, lie to her about their jobs, and then collect intelligence as she sleeps.
To learn more about Kazuki’s job, Rei sneaks out and follows him to Kyutaro’s bar after falling asleep watching Miri. As a way to make extra money, Kazuki claims to have been babysitting her. Kyutaro is suspicious and offers to babysit Miri while they finish gathering intelligence. As Kazuki and Rei rush to finish their work, they fear Miri might reveal the truth if left too long. let’s see when Buddy Daddies Episode 6 is set to release, the timings, the review of Buddy Daddies Episode 5, and where to watch it.
Buddy Daddies Episode 5 Review
As seen in Buddy Daddies Episode 5, “Crunch Time,” it is a dynamic look at parenthood, working, and balancing financial responsibility with a responsibility to look after your family, even if that means harming your family. Amidst the series’ central conflict, Works knows exactly how to craft its wholesome core. Ultimately, Kazuki and Rei kill people for money; they’re killers. They killed Miri’s dad, but that doesn’t change their love for her.
The capacity of the characters in Buddy Daddies Episode 5 to combine their hitman tasks with their fatherly responsibilities is one of their distinguishing features. Life isn’t flawless, despite the happiness and slice-of-life moments we saw in the previous episode, as the audience is reminded in a conversation with Kyutaro at the close of the episode. Kyutaro’s warning to our main protagonists about the perils of their work also acts as a reminder to the audience.
A long-running narrative can grow in a way that makes it more than just a gimmick since the series understands the circumstances in which its characters live. Buddy Daddies’ fifth episode maintains the series’ trend of marrying family wholesomeness with becoming an assassin—and the complications of doing so. I’m excited to see what occurs next as their family life is solidified, their jobs are secure, and Kyutaro can assist with childcare by the conclusion of the episode. Buddy Daddies is the best action/family comedy anime, an ideal family.
