When it comes to BTS, people are always curious to know what they do behind the cameras. Well, this also includes curiosity regarding their favorite food, habits, way of passing free time, etc. Following RM’s social media post that highlighted him to be smoking, ARMYs started wondering if that was meant for a pose or if it was his habit. Naturally, it sparked controversy.
The whole world now knows BTS and is aware of its prominence. It cannot be denied in any way. Concerning its leader, RM, originally known as Kim Nam-Joon, was born in 1994 in Dongjak District, Seoul. That makes the Kpop idol 29 years at present. Well, RM stands for Rap Monster, signifying his rap skills.
Besides working with BTS, RM also has a solo career. Last year, he made his studio album debut with “Indigo.” You must listen to it.
It was RM who formed the BTS Kpop group in 2010. He started training with J-Hope and Suga for three years. Eventually, other members like Jin, Jimin, V, and Jungkook joined and started their debut in 2013 under Big Hit Entertainment. In case you are looking for some of BTS’ all-time hits, make sure you listen to Dynamite, Butter, Idol, DNA, Boy with Luv, My Universe, and Permission to Dance.
Moving on with RM’s social media post featured the rapper smoking, which fans didn’t expect. Even though he deleted it quickly, people were quicker to see the photo. Soon, that went viral on the internet, making fans wonder if he is a chain smoker.
BTS Member RM’s Smoking Caused A Stir As Fans Showed Their Concerns: Everything About The Social Media Post
It was not international but a mistake. BTS leader RM accidentally posted the picture of him smoking out with a friend and, therefore, quickly deleted it too. To be more particular, it was uploaded on 11 November 2023.
As the picture went viral, all the ARMYs started showing their concerns for RM’s health. We all know that smoking is dangerous and life-threatening. Even a kid is aware of the harmful effects. Despite knowing it, people do drugs and smoke, and it even turns out to be a habit for many.
Recently, RM went live on Weverse, where a fan brought up his “smoking controversy” in the comment section. That was the time when the Kpop idol lost his patience to stay quiet about the matter and finally addressed it.
On this note, he said, “Guys, please, guys come on. It’s my life. Tell your opinions about- I don’t know guys, I’m just a singer.” While saying this, RM didn’t mention anything about his deleted smoking post. But the fans were quick enough to understand what he meant.
With RM’s smoking controversy, even fans got divided. Like what? Some raised concerns, requesting him not to. They didn’t even seem to be polite but criticized the BTS member for his smoking habit. On the other hand, some fans argued, stating that RM has the right to make his choices.
Well, it’s not good to invade anyone’s privacy, no matter what. The worried fans were not wrong, though. But, when RM didn’t like that, it’s better to stop speaking about it.
As mentioned earlier about RM’s age, smoking, in his case, is legal. He is an adult. Fans didn’t show their disappointment about his age but his health. On the other hand, it is also right to say that it’s his life.
One thing was very wrong. As the controversy regarding RM’s smoking habit started making headlines, some of his fans stopped supporting him, even as an idol. What do you think about this?
Why do we love a Kpop idol mainly for? His or her music skills. Fashion sense, dancing skills, and looks come later. Isn’t it? When it comes to BTS members, each of them is versatile and never fails to prove. We wonder how someone’s ability name can be based on his or her smoking habits.
Even though RM mistakenly posted the picture, he cleared out the fact that it had nothing to do with him promoting unhealthy habits. It’s just his life, and he can do whatever he feels like. That’s true! RM shared this without any harsh approach.
