BTS has achieved another major milestone on its global tour, attracting approximately 155,000 fans to three sold-out concerts in Lima, Peru.

The South Korean group performed at Estadio San Marcos on October 7, 9, and 10 as part of its ongoing ‘ARIRANG’ world tour, marking its first-ever concerts in the country since debuting in 2013.

According to the group’s agency, BigHit Music, the overwhelming demand for tickets led to the addition of a third concert.

Originally planned for two nights, the Lima stop was expanded to accommodate more fans eager to see RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook perform live.

The three concerts attracted significant attention throughout Peru, demonstrating the group’s continued international popularity and the strong connection it shares with its Latin American fanbase.

The performances also highlighted how major K-pop events can bring together fans from different countries and generate substantial activity for the host city.

BTS Receives an Enthusiastic Welcome in Lima

BTS’s arrival in Peru prompted celebrations across Lima, with fans gathering to welcome the group and express their excitement ahead of the concerts.

The city even designated a “BTS Avenue” and organized a special light show to celebrate the group’s visit.

The atmosphere surrounding Estadio San Marcos reflected the scale of the occasion.

Local media described the area as “a sea of BTS,” as fans assembled around the venue in anticipation of the performances.

Some supporters arrived in distinctive outfits, while others carried bouquets and playful wedding veils as a humorous expression of their affection for the members.

The concerts also attracted fans from outside Peru.

Reuters documented international supporters travelling to Lima to experience BTS live, with some describing the performances as a rare opportunity to see the group without having to travel to South Korea or another country.

During one of the concerts, BTS acknowledged the long wait for its first performances in Peru. The members told the audience,

“We wonder why it took us so long to come to Peru,” expressing their appreciation for the enthusiastic welcome.

The visit was also expected to provide a significant boost to the local economy.

According to The Korea Times, estimates projected tourism-related economic benefits of approximately 25.1 billion won, or around US$19 million, from the three-show run.

Spending on accommodation, food, merchandise, transportation, and other visitor activities contributed to expectations of a substantial economic impact.

V Celebrates Korean Culture as BTS Continues Its South American Tour

Beyond the concerts themselves, member V drew attention for a special gesture celebrating Korean culture.

During the Lima performances, he wore a specially designed T-shirt displaying the city’s name and his real name, Kim Tae-hyung, in Korean.

The back of the shirt carried a message commemorating October 9, 2026, as the 100th anniversary of Hangeul Day, which celebrates the Korean writing system.

V has also been incorporating Spanish expressions into the group’s performances during the South American tour, creating additional moments of connection with audiences in Spanish-speaking countries.

Following the successful Lima concerts, BTS is scheduled to continue the South American leg of its ‘ARIRANG’ world tour with performances in Santiago, Chile, on October 14, 16, and 17.

The group will then head to Buenos Aires, Argentina, before performing in São Paulo, Brazil, later in the month.

The Peru concerts represent another significant chapter in BTS’s return to the global stage as a group.

With three sold-out shows and approximately 155,000 attendees reported by allkpop, the Lima stop underscores the scale of anticipation surrounding the tour.

As BTS continues travelling across South America, fans in each destination will have the opportunity to experience the group’s music and performances in person.

The enthusiastic reception in Peru has made the country’s first BTS concerts a notable moment for both the group and its dedicated Latin American fanbase.
