The elders were not sure why Boruto had returned after killing the Hokage when he was aware that they wanted him dead.
Shikamaru informed them that nobody was aware of Boruto’s intention, but after seeing what he had done. They were completely sure that the code was driven by Boruto’s help.
But he was sure that he had not reappeared since then. The elders reminded Shikamaru to do so no matter what kind of circumstance they were in.
They had to somehow eliminate Boruto, as the issue reflected on Konoha’s honour. Especially since it concerned the attempted murder of Uzumaki Kawaki.
The elders informed Shikamaru that all the Daimyo were furious. They had to worry about the next fiscal budget, the continued existence of their village was in danger.
Shikamaru told them he was already aware of that. The elders suggested Shikamaru accept the title of Lord Eighth. They believed that he was weakening their position, not just in the land of fire.
But other villages are well, Shikamaru assured them he would report them again soon. Ino brought Shikamaru the data he had asked for, and he thanked Ino for personally delivering the data.
Ino was curious why Shikamaru wanted the mission logs from long ago. Shikamaru informed her he was curious about something. It turned out the log was just an excuse.
Shikamaru told Ino he did not want the sensory unit to listen. He did not want Eida, Kawaki, or Amado to know about it either.
He requested that Ino keep their conversation secret from everyone. Ino told him she could not do that and mentioned that it entirely depended on the content.
Off-the-record transmissions were a violation of regulations. Shikamu told her Kanoha’s safety relied on that.
He asked Ino to do what he wanted her to do or they could not discuss it any further. Ino had no other option besides agreeing to his request. She asked him what he needed her to do.

Kawaki learned from Eida that Ten Tails had developed awareness. Eida did not explain why or how they got that way.
But she had seen that they were evolving into a completely different being than they normally would. Kawaki was surprised because he thought Code was controlling them.
Eida informed him that Code had run off somewhere, and she mentioned that they were out of his league so it did not even matter.
Eida explained that the most concerning thing was that they were not just after Otsutsuki like him and Boruto. She mentioned that, for some reason, they wanted to kill the seventh hokage, Uzumaki, Naruto, and her too.
Kawaki was not sure why they were after the seventh Hokage, he could not figure out what those guys wanted. Eida told him she did not know the reason either.
Kawaki made a vow that he would get rid of them anyhow because the seventh Hokage was under his care.
Daemon reminded Kawaki that Boruto and Sasuke were the only ones other than them who knew the Hokage was alive.
Even though no one believed those two because they were considered criminals. He reminded Kawaki if those claw-grim monsters came there looking for the Hokage.
Daemon believed that someone would figure out that Kawaki had been lying the entire time. Even though he did not care about what happened to him, he wanted to give him an early warning. Eida suggested that Daemon not say such things to Kawaki.
