The story follows high school student Azizuki Sora, who has a crush on his junior, Fuwa Miya. But the person Fuwa likes is Susukaze Asahi, the president of the Trialing Club. Azizuki joins the Trialing Club in hopes of being with Fuwa, not knowing that Susukaze has had a crush on him for 6 years.
The Trialing Club received a request from Mahiru Miya to show one of her friends, Koma, what a toxic relationship looks like as she is in love with the concept of Romance. Azizuki was supposed to act as a garbage boyfriend, while Mahiru played the girlfriend. Because of Azizuki’s horrible acting, Koma could see through the ruse instantly. They ended the day by going to a board game cafe.
However, towards the end, it seems like Mahiru might have fallen for Azizuki. She won’t act on it as she knows that the one Azizuki likes is her sister Fuwa. We know that Susukaze already knows that Azizuki is her Trialing Prince. However, she does not want Azizuki to find out about it. She asks Fuwa not to reveal it to him as well, which she agrees to. Little did they know that Azizuki had other plans. They recently received a request from the detective club to do an investigation. The detective club wanted to gather data on how amateurs would go about solving a case.
Azizuki wanted to use this opportunity to find out the identity of the Trialing Prince, much to the horror of Fuwa and Susukaze. They do their best to derail his investigation, but as Azizuki reveals himself to be quiet, the detective. They almost convinced Azizuki that the one he was looking for was Kaminaga Yuu, but at the last second, Susukaze told him otherwise.
