Recap of BOFURI: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, So I’ll Max Out My Defense Season 2 Episode 1
We see in episode 1, when Maple and Sally find out about the fourth level, they go back to the game’s setting right away. To reach the new level, they must defeat the boss on the third level, which has a setting with a Japanese motif. Maple and her buddies quickly discover additional information as they explore the following level.
Sally is doing the same until Frederica dares her to another combat. Sally does not hesitate to strike back as Frederica hits her opponent with a direct attack. Both of them battle hard, and Frederica quickly celebrates her triumph. As soon as Sally suddenly attacks her from behind, her happiness is short-lived. The in-game adventures allow Maple to discover Mii’s cute side as she leads others through them.
The two get closer and become better friends as a result. It’s interesting to observe that Kasumi finds a new blade and utilizes it right away. Kasumi is offered the chance to wield her new sword immediately against a monster she claims has a lot of health. She decides to wield the sword she just got. As a result, only to find that she now looks very different from before.
The battle doesn’t last too long since the initial attack exposes the monster’s defense. A new technique called Purple Phantom Blade eliminates it once it falls to the ground. In the end, she realizes that after using it, she becomes childlike for a few minutes and that her appearance changes dramatically. Despite this, the Purple Phantom Blade is still effective since it strains the Bewitched Sword.
After a barrage of attacks, the Purple Phantom Blade simultaneously pierces the opponent with ten blades. Once it has been made public, the game’s sixth event will soon take place. Two in-game days will be allotted for the event, and participants will be required to do their responsibilities during this time. The event field is covered in various unusual materials, with Christmas as the theme.
The moment the event starts, Maple wakes up in a jungle where monsters await her. She launches ornaments in a matter of seconds, destroying most of the monsters in her vicinity with a counterattack. But as she moves across the area, she encounters Payne, who is simultaneously clearing the event. It concerns the games’ administrators and others that the pair has an unfair advantage since they are virtually impossible to defeat due to their recent confrontation.
However, the duo decides to work together. Despite knowing Maple has outsmarted them, they can’t do much since any changes would have drastic effects. Payne and Maple are surrounded by a swarm of animals that never stops attacking them. She first takes charge and can fight most of them by herself. But the battle quickly changed in character.
Payne took charge when Maple was under attack from above and even managed to save her. After the competition, Maple decided that the two teams should share a Christmas celebration. After opening their gifts, the two groups celebrated the celebration together, having grown more confident in one another. They were startled when they donned outfits with Christmas themes.
