Bodycam generated an estimated $24.2 million on Steam in September 2026, making it the game’s best-performing month since entering Early Access in June 2024. The result is particularly notable because the realistic PvP shooter has been available for more than two years, yet its latest update managed to bring the game back to a new commercial peak.

The September revenue figure surpassed Bodycam’s previous best month, which came during its Early Access launch period when it generated approximately $16 million. The game has now passed $77 million in total revenue on Steam through approximately 3.2 million copies sold, according to estimates from Alinea Analytics.

The timing of the surge appears closely connected to the game’s major “Locked & Loaded” 0.8 update. The update introduced additional progression, depth and polish while bringing Bodycam closer to the developers’ original vision for the realistic multiplayer shooter.

Locked & Loaded Gives Bodycam a Major Boost

Bodycam stands apart from conventional multiplayer shooters through its attempt to recreate the appearance of footage captured by body-worn police and military cameras. Its deliberately realistic presentation has been one of its biggest selling points since the game entered Early Access.

However, the September figures suggest that the game’s continued development is also playing an important role. The 0.8 update appears to have provided a significant reason for existing players to return while potentially giving new players another reason to purchase the game.

The game’s $24.2 million September revenue also puts its latest performance ahead of several newer premium releases on Steam. It ranked among the platform’s highest-grossing premium games for the month, despite being an Early Access title that launched in 2024.

The latest milestone puts Bodycam at approximately 3.2 million copies sold on Steam, with more than $77 million in total revenue generated through the platform. The September performance represents a major improvement over the game’s previous monthly peak and shows that a long-running Early Access project can experience another substantial growth period when a major content update lands.

Steam itself also had a record September, generating approximately $1.7 billion during the month. New 2026 releases accounted for 33.6% of revenue among the top 500 grossing games, while free-to-play titles represented 25.6% of revenue from that group. Bodycam’s performance therefore arrived during an exceptionally strong month for Valve’s platform. (Alinea Analytics)

With Bodycam continuing development in Early Access, its September 2026 result could become an important milestone for the game’s long-term trajectory. The next major updates will determine whether the shooter can maintain the momentum generated by Locked & Loaded.
