Aki Hamaji is the writer and illustrator of Bocchi The Rock! which is four-panel manga series. This manga is serialized in Houbunsha’s seinen manga magazine Manga Time Kirara Max. It begin serializing in December 2017 and as of this writing, it has been collected into 4 volumes. The manga was first seized as a guest work in the magazine in December 2017. The full serialization of the manga begin in March 2018 and still continues.

The anime adaptation of the series was announced over a year ago in February 2021. The anime is produced by Cloverworks with the direction of Keiichirō Saitō (director of the anime movie; Doraemon the Movie: Nobita’s New Dinosaur (2020)).
The plot for the anime is set around a girl named Hitori Gotoh also known as Bocchi-Chan who is an introvert and very shy that does not even know how to talk with other people. Being shut alone, Hitori practices playing guitar and also uploads a video of her playing on the internet.
Still not being able to find friends, Hitori enters high school and to her surprise, she is approached by a drummer of the Kessoku Brand, and from then, her life changes.
